I have a Fitbit Sense and a Moto G7 phone with Android 10. I noticed my phone was gradually getting sluggish over a few weeks. This was affecting all apps. It got to the point where even the onscreen keyboard would sometimes freeze for 20-30 seconds at a time. I uninstalled the Fitbit app, and that immediately fixed the issue. All my apps were fast and responsive again!
I reinstalled the Fitbit app, and it was fine for a few days, but my phone gradually started slowing down again. I'm using less than half of my phone's storage, so storage space isn't the cause. I contacted Fitbit support and they told me to clear the Fitbit app's cache and then force stop it. That fixed the slowness again. I suppose I'll have to do this a couple of times per week.
How many of you are seeing this same issue?

Motorola released an update for the Moto G7 that fixed this issue. I got the update yesterday, and now my phone is fast and responsive again, even with the Fitbit app installed and running.

This was a system update from Motorola. Your phone likely got the update automatically by now. Unfortunately, the symptoms came back after a couple of weeks. I ended up fixing it by buying a better phone. I'm now using a Google Pixel 4a 5g, and everything's working great.
I'm afraid there may not be a good fix for the Moto G7. You may need to force stop the Fitbit app and clear it's cache every few days.
