Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the Google App play store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/23

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

I've tried this and other things with no improvement. This is a new issue that started a couple weeks ago when I updated to the new dashboard. There was a fresh update just a bit ago that had improved things, but not completely. The new dashboard looks nice, but I didn't mind the old one. Plus the old one worked without a hitch!

Good to hear a positive review.

The only problem with the "old" app is that it takes about six syncs to update everything. First sync does sleep, next one does heart rate, and so on.

Is this bug fixed on the new one? Otherwise, there is no reason to change.

Unresponsive is exactly right! The new app is just like the Charge 3. Lots of glitz, but when real users asked for functionality we got silence.

@Dani3 On the main "today" tab of the dashboard, select your profile image at the top left of the screen, then select your fitbit. You will then be on the device settings where you'll find the alarms

Thank you! a bit difficult to find. Hopefully they will change this.

@AlessFitbit or someone, is the new dashboard still being rolled out? Your last post said a few weeks. It's well past that. Is there any more precise information? You announced this in mid-April. It's now mid-July.

I'm not able to start a new challenge with the update. I can join them or "rematch", but there is no option to actually start a new one.

As others have stated, this update has some very annoying issues. But this is frustrating.

I have app version 3.0 installed but have not received the invite to update dashboard. Is there a link I can check to see when this is available for my phone?

I have the same problem.

I'm not sure what "spoiler" means in one of these messages. It's no news, just frustration with this "new" dashboard. It's going to be an old dashboard by the time I get it apparently.

It's a random rollout so you might receive it now or in few days. Unfortunately you can only wait as the new dashboard is not linked with the app version.

Best Answer

I understand that the "new" dashboard is not connected with the Android app. I have 3.0 also. Someone on the chat support line told me that maybe I would get it with the next update. That makes no sense if the two are not connected. Likewise, I don't understand "random rollout." Someone (or some computer) must know where it's being sent, and to whom. It would help to have an idea of how long those of us who don't have it yet have to wait. One would think that there's a time frame for having the rollout completed. No answers from @AlessFitbit or any of the other moderators.

Be careful what you wish for! I personally like the appearance of the
"old" app better and cannot see any advantageous upgrades on the new one
other than showing percent of battery remaining rather than simply full,
medium, or low. I asked one of the fitbit moderators on this thread to
specifically enumerate the "upgrades" and received no reply at all.
Apparently, in fitbit-land, if you can't answer a question, you simply
ignore it and hope the customer forgets about it.

So it seems. That's disappointing. Someone earlier said about Fitbit, "good hardware, poor software." I'd say good hardware, but awful communication and worse customer service. That's a pity. This forum has become a list of users talking to one another about what they hate, and occasionally what they like, with no input whatsoever from Fitbit.

If I ever get one of their random "invitations," I'm actually prepared to like it. As I've experienced in the past, the systems are very good even if the support is nearly worthless.

@Purrstachio don't forget this is a user community. Although it's moderated by fitbit, it's not used by customer support. It's here to let customers help each other.

True. However, @RicardoFitbit replied to my post stating that there were
many improvements. I simply asked him to enumerate those and got crickets
for a response.
