Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the Google App play store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/23

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

I recieved the same update today, it seems to be the same, just better syncing as you stated. Just went for a walk and had no bluetooth connection issues, and keeps in sync with my watch much more through out the walk.

@RicardoFitbit When will the new dashboard rolled out to everybody?

Best Answer

@RicardoFitbit : I have to admit that the syncing and starting of exercises happens faster than 2.94 but after I took a break yesterday during my bike ride and the Auto Pause function captured this, my Versa lost connectivity and took several minutes to re-establish a connection to my phone. (Full connectivity to GPS and Mobile Data with my Phone)

Again: This did not happen with 2.74.2 which is my baseline for the Fitbit app. This version worked like a charm and I would really appreciate to have the Notification widget optionally available again. This way I can see what the App is actually doing (Syncing, preparing for exercise, and so on) 🙂

Hi

I was wondering I'd there is a way to go back to the prior dashboard?

I really dislike the new redesign and would very much like to have the prior dashboard icons and layout.

Thanks

I just installed the new Dashboard. My immediate concern is that I'm unable to find the silent alarm button. I need to go to bed and I'm losing sleep trying to adjust my alarm! Can you help?

Best Answer

I set my alarms on the watch, not on the dashboard. Can you do that? I have the Ionic. I don't know what you can do with other Fitbit models.

On the today tab select your profile image, then select your fitbit, this should give you your device settings including alarms.

This is what Steve H. said in reply to a similar query.  Hope it helps you sleep soundly.

Please note that Ionic/Versa don't have such function, alarms can only be set from the watch itself

I am running 2.95 and do not have the new dashboard.  Why is this?

Best Answer

I am also running 2.95. On Saturday (or maybe Friday) I received an e-mail telling me to look for the new dashboard. So far, it has not appeared, but I suppose it's coming eventually. Hey, Fitbit - I love my Ionic. It has worked great for over a year now. I've never encountered most of the problems people gripe about on this forum and the few I've had have been quickly solved. The battery life is excellent. I have a lot of fun trying new clock faces. It's all good - just one request, please quit promising things and then taking forever to deliver. You guys announced this new dashboard months ago (for the "lucky" few - yes, I understand beta testing, but this is ridiculous). Now this e-mail appears, but there's still no new dashboard. Come on, already.

Yes also got this email about new dashboard. I hear others talking about it
but **ahem** all here

Yup, just crickets. Annoying, but a "first world" problem.

Hello! I'm happy to continue providing assistance, my apologies for the delay in responding your posts. Welcome to our Community Forums @Eyeballer @SanketMistry. I'm happy to see  @Sunshine1991 @SunsetRunner @Sidea01 @Purrstachio @Lilbiddy and @dave_in_ni participating. Thanks for your post @Giampi71.

@Sunshine1991 @SunsetRunner thanks for both of your updates regarding our Fitbit app 2.95, the information and details that were shared with us are appreciated. Please note that Fitbit is always striving to improve our products and services, therefore, the feedback regarding the Bluetooth connection after the update is appreciated. Don't hesitate to get in touch again if you need anything else from my end.

@Eyeballer Thanks for the feedback about the new Fitbit app design, your comments are appreciated. As it turns out, there's no way to return to the old Fitbit app version once you receive the new one. Take in consideration that this new app have lots of improvements, please give it a try and keep me posted.

@Sidea01 Let me share with you that if you have our Fitbit Versa series or Ionic, the silent alarms can only be setup directly from the watch as itself, just as @Giampi71 said. If you have another Fitbit device, you just need to go to the Fitbit app, select the device paired and you'll find the silent alarms option. Let me know how it goes.

@Giampi71 @SanketMistry @Purrstachio @dave_in_ni I'd like to share with you guys that at this moment I'm unable to provide the specific date when the new app design will be released to each Fitbit user. Rest assured, we're still in the process of rolling it out to everyone as soon as we can. In the meantime, I recommend you guys to keep the app updated.

@Purrstachio @Lilbiddy I appreciate the suggestions that were shared on your posts, the willingness to help is always appreciated here in the Community Forums. Don't hesitate to ask me any additional questions.

I'll be around.

Hi @RicardoFitbit, I saw your reply to someone who wasn't enamoured with the new app display telling them they can't change back. My point is that when you invite someone to try something the implication is that it is optional and therefore reversible.  If it isn't then you should just tell people here's the new display like it or lump it.

I updated the app this morning for my fitbit and hate the new look and interface. Called and asked if I could revert to the earlier look and was told no.

Offer the selection of dashboard looks for the user.

Best Answer

I agree completely - I called and asked how to go back to the earlier one and was told that is not an option at this time... NOT happy

I have the updated dashboard. It seems to lag in updating. Today I have synced my Versa and non of the information has updated. I hope the bugs get worked out quickly.

Best Answer

@dalsdad- you can go back - PM me for details, If I post here they will delete it... I am so fed up with Fitbit I could care less right now...

Keep Steppin!

The old app was much more visually pleasing and easier to navigate. Seeing where you are, tracking progresswise, was much much easier with the old app too.
