Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the Google App play store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/23

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

I dislike the new format... Furthermore before I clicked to try, the message said I could switch back... 😕

Actually the app says you won't be able to switch back. Which I odd, honestly.

I still haven't decided to use the new gui or not now. But weird I cannot review it before deciding I want to use the new or old one for now.

I kinda liked that feature I hope it isn't something you guys removed when changing the layout. Other then that I kinda like it.

And it doesn't do live count of my steps.

Sadly I think they are going to switch us all over at some point so I just did it anyways.

Annoyed. Stupidly opted in, went for a run and my Surge wouldn't sync on my return. Finally managed to get it to connect and although it's showing my steps correctly it's now wiped my calorie burn so far for today and has no data on my run. Annoyed!!!!!!!!!

I hate the new dashboard. It's clunky and boring. How do I revert to the old one?

Best Answer

same here - I have called fitbit 4 times to no avail

Best Answer

Me too!! The new one is so incredibly uninspiring, clearly there's been no UX testing done.

Also, I've just discovered the only way to log a ticket with fitbit support is through twitter, which is preposterous. Some of us don't have social media for a good reason. Why should I have to create a third party account in order to log my support ticket with the fitbit brand? Talk about alienating your customers!! I'm about ready to put in a formal complaint about this, this is bull**ahem**.

The new dashboard shows less information than before and is really uninspiring how is that an improvement to use experience???!

Debug before you deploy and do some **ahem** UX testing before releasing half baked crap to your many many customers!! Sort yourself out fitbit.

How do you edit the items that appear on the new dashboard?  Sorry if this has been answered, but I can't find it.

I'd like to re-arrange the items on the dashboard to put them in the order that is most important to me.  And there are items that I don't need/want - how do I delete them from the dashboard?

Best Answer

Just got the new update. And it appears that it is a change for the sake of change, while screwing up the usability of the old UI.

With the grid view of the old UI, I could fit and see all my items on my screen.

With the new vertical view, I lose about two items on my Pixel 3 and have to scroll down to see them. This is really a poor decision and someone  should have flagged it before it was pushed out.

Also, the Plus signs make it to easy to screw up existing data. I clicked on the sleep plus sign to see what it did and at the end my sleep was bumped up by an hour. Granted, I was not paying much attention at the time, but changing existing data should not be made so easy.

But it's the vertical view which fits less items, that's really a bad decision. And there are no new features, or any more details, so this update is largely useless, and detrimental at that. I wish FitBit would be working on the SpO2 sensor and improving connectivity, instead of refreshing the UI and making it less user-friendly.

Can we revert back?

Best Answer

@Bleeh no, once we switch to the new design we can't switch back

Best Answer

I got the new update yesterday and "opted" in. Today, it shows yesterdays stats, briefly updates to today and then goes back to yesterday right away saying it is Today.

How do I fix this?

Best Answer

@JanetteK I see this first time I use the app in the morning but if I use the arrows to display yesterday's data then go back to today's data it corrects itself.

Best Answer

I did that, and then each time I go back, I have to do it again.  It shouldn't have to refresh every time I ope the app. And, after several seconds, it says Today but goes back to yesterdays stats.

Best Answer

However it does not do a live count of my steps. I have to sync it if I want it to show my current steps.

(I have a Charge 2)

I have just upgraded the android fitbit app to v2.95. I hate it.

How do I start recording an exercise FROM THE PHONE APP?

How do i view an exercise FROM THE PHONE APP?

What happened to the GPS tracking accuracy. Since upgrade it is TERRIBLE.

Something has gone terribly wrong. It is unusable.

@AlessFitbit  @KateFitbit Hello, Fitbit app page says update 2.95 has a new layout, I have update 3.0 with the old layout... what's happening? The Play store even has the updated look in the app's screenshots. Uninstalled and installed to no avail.

Yes, same here. I have 3.0 with old dashboard. The good news I have noticed is that it seems to sync better with the Ionic. Could someone from Fitbit please explain what is going on. From what I read here, maybe I don't want this new layout, but would love to check it out and be able to decide.
