Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the Google App play store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/23

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

Of course different people are going to react differently. I'm glad you
find the new interface to be intuitive.

There are, however, some standard ways of organizing user interfaces. For
example, the Account button often goes in the upper left or right corner,
as with this new design. But, it is fairly standard for the Account pane to
include information about the user's basic relationship with the site, not
settings that the usert might want to change frequently, such as, say,
clock faces.

I'm curious: Were you easily able to locate where the available clock faces
are kept in the newly designed app?

To me putting clock face setting under the account makes no sense, this has nothing to do with the Fitbit account, but with the tracker. Besides I have 2 trackers connected to my account.

As for where clock face selection is, it hasn't moved, still in the same place.

Swipe the dashboard down, if need to, tap on the tracker Clock faces.

As for standard settings/adjustments this is what I can get to. photocollage_2019817185545256.jpg

Hi MikeS1971,

I preferred the later version to the one you are using but that's a personal choice.

I agree with you if the dashboard is going to a be jus a list the version you are using is superior to "new experience"

Out of interest how did you stop the dashboard updating - just ignore invites to update??

How do I change this dashboard / home page?? I hate it it looks cheap and outdated.  The answer for switching the dashboard on 2017 is no longer valid, there is no option to change it back. Please help, i used to love this app, now i hate it.

Hi @MRenee1

Read the first post of this thread - you can't go back to the old dashboard. Sorry.

Stepping in the U.S.A. since September 2013. Android 14

True, there is no going back.

I have been complaining about the new dashboard for well over a month. I
haven't changed my mind.
However, I rely heavily on sleep stages. I could not find it in the
"display." I had complained about it mightily in this forum, to no avail.
The two "solutions" I was told were (1) load the old version if I could
find it, (2) purchase new, to me it through some unknown app store.

I even did a chat session - an absolute waste of time.

Today I finally sent an email to support. Within a few hours, my problem
was solved. They were wonderful.

Hi,

Could you explain the resolution support gave you?

Thanks

No problem. Better then me trying to explain, I'll let the experts.

Upon checking, we can see that you have sleep stages in some of your sleep
data. That being said, if you want to see your sleep stages simply click
the arrow in the right side of the date you want to view.

This works in both the dashboard and log views. Scroll down to the table,
it doesn't work on the bar graph. On the far right of the table beside the
hours and minutes slept, is an arrow. Click on the arrow and there it all
is. (Totally hidden, to me, but now found.

In line with this, we can also see that you have sleep data that is less
than 3 hours. We'd also like to share that less that 3 hours of sleep only
shows you sleep patterns not sleep stages. For more information about
sleep, visit our help article What should I know about sleep stages?

Best of luck!

I went on to my app this morning to get information quickly. Saw the pop up to get the new look and just hit cancel because I didn’t have time if it needed to update. Now I am free to get the update and I don’t see the option anywhere. Where can I get the update?

Like others have discovered once the option to test out the new dashboard has been declined the user will have to wait for the final release.

As for changing over to the new dashboard, their really is nothing to install. Everything was already setup and the app just needed your confirmation to switch.

Declining removed the few files needed to switch over.

Actually you can. Just not in the "official" way. There are plenty of websites out there that host older versions of apps, even the FitBit one for free. Cant post a link here, because it would immediately get removed. FitBit doesn't want us to be happy with our devices. Once you download an older version of the app, uninstall the current version then install the download one.

Easy.....

I'm flawlessly running a version over two years old.

I absolutely hate the new dashboard. I think we need to go back. This is highly unmotivating. I can't move things..I cannot find graphs...only today or yesterday....where is everything?

Hi everyone! It's nice to see you in the Community Forums. @Rich_Laue, thanks for your great help! I'm sorry for my delayed response.

Thanks to all of you for sharing your thoughts about the new dashboard and your experience with ti. I see where are you coming from about this and I'm sorry for the inconveniences that you've had. Our team often reviews the Community Forums to work and improve our products based on your feedback. While there isn't a option to return to the old dashboard, your comments will not go unnoticed.

Right now the new dashboard is available for everyone only by opting in. Tap on the banner offering the new dashboard and follow the onscreen instructions. For more details on how to navigate through the new dashboard, check this help article. If you have another question, don't hesitate to reply back.

@Lawmom4, thanks for stopping by and about your question, I'd recommend to close the Fitbit app from the open apps, reboot your phone and then try adding a Fitbit widget to your Android phone by following the steps from this help article.

@MarkMM, thanks for the details provided and let me help you with your inquiry. If you refer to the steps tiles showing up at the top of the dashboard, let me share that while that's the default order, it'll not represent your main goal. To edit the tiles in your preferred order, please do the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app, scroll down and tap on "Edit".
  2. Hold and drag the calories tile to a new location.
  3. If you'd like to hide a tile, just tap on the -  icon in the top left corner of that tile.
  4. Tap on Done to save the changes.

@Kfaulkner, just to confirm, did it help the steps provided to you on this post? If not, please provide me with your Fitbit device model and your phone's model.

@davidjoho, thanks for your comments as well for your suggestions to improve the app. About the clock face settings, let me share that the account now profile's screen is divided in different sections depending of what you're looking for. As @Rich_Laue mentioned, to change any setting related to your device (Ionic in your case), as before you'll need to tap on your Fitbit device's settings to find those options. If you're not finding the clock faces options, reply back with a screenshot so we can further investigate.

@Meganlonette, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about the new dashboard. About your inquiry, let me share that all the tiles can be moved through the dashboard as you prefer. You'll just need to follow the steps described here. Now, your stats graph will be displayed after tapping on each stat as it was before. For example, if you tap on the steps tile, you'll get a graph showing our progress over the wee, and below you'll see the graphs from each day. If the graphs aren't loading, try logging out, rebooting your phone and logging back into the app.

See you around.

@LizzyFitbit. I only see an edit on the top right below the notifications button, and it opens "edit today" and only allows me to remove items, not move them. Scrolling down has to a link to "discover".
