Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the Google App play store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/23

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

Hi Andrienna27,

Assuming you are on android

Go to play store press 3 bars on top LHS

select apps and games

Select installed at top

Select fitbit by pressing on app

Select 3 dots top corner RHS

Last option on drop down menu auto update

All other apps will now continue to auto update but fitbit will request update which you can decline

I did not update to the new dashboard (based on the feedback), but today Fitbit started pushing it. I am not able anymore to use my old dashboard: the only option left is "let's go" to update to the new layout. There goes opt out. Thanks Fitbit for letting me choose....NOT.

Best Answer

Well they were always going to do that. I have to say that it's a triumph of design: making all of the elements smaller and yet fitting less information onto a single screen takes a special type of talent.

That linking message is simply the apps way of asking if you will let the app link your tracker to the phone. This is needed for connected GPS, messaging, replies, and some apps on the ionic and versa. I believe it is also required for the weather app to work, but I may be wrong with this one.

Best Answer

IMO that makes no difference WRT the App's layout. In my experience once I opted in to the new interface on my current phone the Fitbit interface changed to match without notice on each of my other Android devices, which had both older Fitbit app versions and different Android versions. Further to that, I also tried installing an older version of the Fitbit app from another user's phone which was still running the old interface. After the reinstallation the Fitbit app immediately opened with the new interface.

Thank you, @silvermetis , that worked!

"Lets go" is just another veiled way of getting you accept the "new experience" and I am sure there will be others. Just like the other requested I declined let's go and stayed with the old old dashboard.

It took me months to get my and my wife's versa working reliably they do all the things we want them to do - why do we need "new experiences"?

Give me the old one back. Smiley Sad

I realized that the moment I saw it and tried my best to avoid it but there was no way to decline. No button except to allow it, no way to dismiss the message and go back to the way it had been.  I even tried shutting down the entire app externally and then reopening it but the only screen it would show anymore was "Let's Go," and it wouldn't sync, either.   I finally allowed it for lack of any other option (after trying for a good hour to find a way around it) and then it STILL wouldn't sync because it couldn't find my Versa, and the screen it showed with the stats I had already had earned earlier in the day was of abysmal design, as others have shared.  As "new experiences" go, this is one I definitely could have done without, since it took several hours to get even basic functionality back.

Hi Andrienna27,

You decline by pressing the android triangle using on the bottom LHS.

If you see a hole in sidewalk you don't jump in it to see how deep it is you walk round it and wait for some one else to jump in.

This could go down as the most hated update in history...

Just as unliked at play store. Anyone asking or expecting anything from fitbit, including bug fixing must be extremely new here or naive. I've been watching their behaviour on this forum, the "updates', the new products, and their well reimbursed fake reviews on the Web for over a year now. They do nothing is the only way I can explain this company. They simply do nothing in regards to functional or technological progress or bug fixes or features.

A big fat zero!

Things just get worse.

I must unsubscribe to this topic now as it's so popular it's clouding my inbox...

Fit you do nothing and you deserve nothing.

Fools!

Throwing a good company down the drain...

I couldn't see how to not opt for the new dashboard and I have to say I don't like it as much  the colours don't look as bright and ever with removing some things I can't see everything I want without having to scroll down.  Is there an option to revert or some way of modifying this?

Best Answer

Since this new User Interface is technically still in beta, I'm not concerned about the colors. What I'm more concerned is the few issues that continue to bother some with the new UI. I have several con earns that I have brought to Fitbits attention.

Since the UI is not related to the Fitbit App version, refusing an app update may not keep Fitbit from offering the new UI.

Need the option of line block or tiles.  Would like to have the tiles back like they are on the windows website.  A dark option, this screen blinds me in the morning.  Update was not well thought out and you really need to allow users to keep the old version until you have a new version supporting all the feature people like.

Fitbit. Great devices but can't you see that clearly a large number of people dont like the new Android app. Reading through numerous posts it would appear that Fitbit isn't 'putting customers at the centre of its business'. Please don't underestimate this important point. Also, looking at the old and new app on my 2 android phones, I can't see any improvement. What is the justification for the change, please?

I accidentally hit "update" and I absolutely dislike this new "face". How can I move challenges to the bottom? I don't want to see them UNLESS I want to.  I like water, weight, etc at top. It used to be colorful, now its drab. Arrgh,  can you just leave it alone? Or give us choices like the clock faces.

Best Answer

@Julieade have you tried the edit function which allows the user to remove or move tiles around?

Best Answer

I discovered that if you hit "edit", place your finger on something (like water), you can move it up and down to place it where you want. I have other issues with this... 😩

I found that the items you are looking for is under "activity". If you click "edit", then place finger on "activity" and move it to the top. You can move all others around as well well. It really is a bad dashboard!

Sleep data

At the top, you will Dashboard with LOG beside it
click on log
(a much better view of data I think than Dashboard)
click on sleep
scroll below the bar graph
Take any line (day)
Click on the "arrow" on the far right of the line
You will get your sleep stage info as well

I hope this helps you.
