Keep getting a message that fitbit stopped. Will not allow me to join challenges or accept friends. Just get message fitbit stopped.

Hi there @CandyRosco, nice to have you in this occasion in the Fitbit Community! For I can understand your Fitbit app is in some way crashing as it prompt you an alert the app has stopped. I had this issues in once occasion with a different app on my TV and usually these errors can happen due to different reasons. So my first recommendation would be the following:
Please log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.
