Fitbit charge 2 not working on android

Hi,

 

I am using Samsung galaxy grand neo i9060 with android version of 4.2.2. I could not install any more latest version of this. This is the latest for this device. I don't know what is the bluetooth version. I could not see anywhere in the mobile and even over the internet. The fitbit app version shows as 2.15.1. This the latest version that i could download and i could not see any other latest version. When I tried to connect Fitbit charge 2 to my device using steps from app devices--> and then + on right hand corner --> Charge 2 -->Set up your Charge 2. I get a message "Please update your application to continue". I heard in the forum that the android version is not supported. I am not sure why the backward compatability is missing. If this doesn't work, I just need to return it back. Please suggest me all possible solutions to connect to my mobile. Many thanks in advance.

Hi @mnb4feb and welcome to the Community!

The most recent version of the Fitbit Android App has a minimum operating system requirement of 4.3.

If you update your Android version on your phone, you should be able to download the latest version of the Fitbit App and then setup your Charge 2.

My Samsung S7 had a software update now I cannot get it to work with my Fitbit charge 2 at all I have done everything told to do Reloaded plug it into the computer I am still not getting text messages or calls on my charge 2.  How do I fix this problem to make it work with Fitbit

@lgee29, was the software update a new version of the Fitbit app, or the phone Operating System (OS)?  If it was the Fitbit app that updated, ensure that the phone was restarted (or shut down and turned back on) after the update.  Also, check the app setting for Notifications to make sure they did not get turned off (disabled) with the software update.

 

If if was the phone OS that got upgraded, ensure you have Location Services enabled.

Same issue- I cannot get it to link via bluetooth. Phone OS just got updated this week.
