Fitbit.com is down for maintenance

Whenever you try to update your weight‑goal summary, the system throws an error. I’ve updated the app, reinstalled it, talked with customer support, deleted all the data, and logged back in — still no luck. Hopefully it fixes itself soon.

Hi everyone! Thanks for your patience. We’ve found the cause of the issue and are currently fixing it.

Personalized calorie goals should now be showing up correctly. Please note that if you manually set a fixed goal as a temporary workaround, that fixed goal will remain until you change it.

You might still see an error message when creating or updating a food plan, but we expect to have this resolved within the next few days.

Having exactly the same issue since yesterday - error 'Fitbit.com down for maintenance' whenever I try to update the weight goal. App reinstalled etc but still persists.

This has been going on for weeks. Fitbit is practically useless for me this way.

Best Answer

I agree, I have the same thing.

FYI - Fitbit has confirmed this is a issue and they are working on it even through it does not show up on the status dashboard. They have ZERO ETA on fix yet.

Fitbit/gpoglet just did an update today and it's still not fixed.

Edit: Right, my reply went under the wrong section, as I'm on Android. I found the correct thread afterwards.

[I can't save a food plan at all. Many people were already having this issue last year. Doesn't work through Food and doesn't work through settings - Nutrition and Weight, either. The error message I get is "Network operation failed - Fitbit.com is down for maintenance". I'm in Android on Motorola, no pending updates.]

Please please please, will someone sort out the food plan, 5 days now it tells me it's under maintenance 🤷🤷🤷

Hi everybody, It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue while trying to edit your food plan.

Thank you for letting us know about this issue. Our development team is aware of it and they are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.

All i can say is that in the mean time, make sure you are running the latest version of the Fitbit app on your mobile. See How do I update the Fitbit app? for instructions to update the app.

It's 3/9 and it's still not fixed. I'm seriously thinking about getting another fitness tracker that's not Fitbit.Problem after problem.

I tested iOS  today and seeing the same issue. We do have a issue here and why is the dashboard saying everything is online when it really is not?

Best Answer

Still having this issue, running the most updated version (android) and having gone through all the troubleshooting items. 3/11/2026 please fix. This is why I got this thing.

yelp, still not fix with no ETA

Just ridiculous that this thread was started, and the issue logged, 10 days ago, and it's still not been addressed!

I really don't understand how issues like this can arise with functionality that has been working well for years, or how they can be so difficult for a major tech co to address?

This is an important feature for many of us, and there is other functionality, which seems to have been removed from android users eg. Ability to change the date of food entries, access to a central web dashboard.

Very disappointing.

Adding my frustration to this thread...

Mine us the same.. so not working after 5 days...

Please fix asap!!!!!!!

Best Answer

Still having the issue. Just as another data point to this not working.

Can we assign some priority to this issue? I see multiple topics reporting that it’s not working, yet the only response so far has been that development is working on it, with no updates or ETA. This has been going on for almost a month now.

Best Answer

Is there an approximate fix date?

Best Answer

Nothing has been shared for a approximate fix date yet. They pushed out a new update this morning (4.65) on android which still did not fix the issue. All I know is this has been going on for over a month and on Android as well as Apple. Also, they say to keep updated so whenever they feel like fixing this you get the update.
