Fitbit mallfunctioning

In the beginning (about 2 months ago) I was a happy user of a fitbit charge2 and my Samsung s5 mini.
But after a while I getting more and more anoid causing mallfunctioning of the fitbit app.
I do have 3 trouble items:
1) (The less anoing) I do sync by hand. Every morning I like to check my heartrate. But the app never shows the new heartrate of the day immediatly. I have to sync severall times before it shows the new day heartrate. It takes about 10 a 15 minutes.
2) (More anoying) about once a two days the fitbit app will not open anymore. It shows a green bar at the top saying: Fitbit/ The rest of the screen is white without info. I tried everything to get the app alive. Nothing will work like: cleaning the cahche, restart the Phone, remove battery, etc. The only thing that workes is removing the app and reinstall again. Taking severall minutes and also need to setup the app again/
3) (The realy, realy, realy, realy most anoying) If I do a Walk I do like to sync with my Phone for registering the GPS positioning. Most off the time the device connecting fine with the Phone by Bluetooth. But some times It really won't connect. I do need to retry about 15 times and also restart the Phone etc. Then suddenly (mostly after 10 a 15 minutes) the device is connecting and I can start my Walk. Mostly I'm starting then with a heartrate above 110 BPM because I'm angry!!

I think this kind off trouble may not happen with such a high end product.
My Samsung is beside the Fitbit working properly, also with Bluetooth using my carkit for example.
I do have the feeling this problem is started after the new updates of the device and the app.

Is there a possibility to repare this problem?

edit: i did read in an other topic that this maybe caused by leaving a phone on a desk and getting Out of reach of the Bluetooth of the fitbit device

Hey @Canedje

That definitely sounds quite frustrating. I'd like to address each of your concerns:

  • Because the data on the tracker needs to be interpreted and processed this could be expected behavior. My suggestion would be to sync the tracker and start your morning routine and then check the app to verify your HR.
  • Have you recently installed any other apps or protection apps on your device? It is possible that something is clogging up the phone's memory and won't allow it to open the app correctly. Can you recall the very first time this happened?
  • If your mobile device is connected to another Bluetooth device, issues like this can happens because the other connection might interrupt the one with your Fitbit. Perhaps you could try turning the Bluetooth off and then on again every time you go for a walk.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. Look forward to your reply.
