Fitbit won't track exercise or calories

I have the Fitbit Charge 2 and was very pleased with it until I installed the Fitness Pal App. I was having difficulty syncing the two and found it hard to understand i.e. in a typical day I take anywhere between 12,000 and 18,000 steps. Prior to installing Fitness Pal App, my calories showed at over 2,000 (which I understand is not realistic) but now the same amount of steps is only showing a little over 100 calories for same amount of steps.

I have uninstalled Fitness Pal App and have uninstalled and reinstalled Fitbit App but the calories and exercise is still not tracking these properly.

I would appreciate any help to fix this issue.

Thank you!!!

Hello @Tinalou, certainly this is weird you are not seeing calories after you integrate MyFitnessPal. Your calories should not be affected by integrating other services to your Fitbit account.

I'm wondering if you are seeing the same amount of calories on your tracker? Are you doing any additional exercise beside walking?

My recommendation at this point, would be to restart your tracker to see if your calorie count is fixed.

If the issue persists, try to set up your tracker again as a new device on your Fitbit account. For additional help, the following post might be of your help.

Lets give it a try with this and don't forget to keep me posted how it goes.

Hello Roberto,

Thank you for your response. I am seeing the same amount of calories on my Fitbit Charge 2 as I am seeing on the App. It is not logging my exercise i.e. I choose treadmill when going for a walk or workout when I do a class or video. I will see the results on the Fitbit after I press the button to end the session however it then disappears and I don't see it on the tracker or the App.

As an example, prior to installing the Fitness Pal app, week of Feb 26 to March 4 I burned a total of 17,193 calories, week after this was 16,350. Last week only 5,477 and my activity level is the same. I do understand the calorie count is not an exact science I just don't understand how it dropped so drastically - plus the exercise not showing is a concern.

I am not sure how to restart the tracker, is this different from uninstalling the Fitbit App. I would appreciate any help.

Thank you
