Hi all,
Yesterday my phone updated to Android 9 and since then the notifications on my Flex 2 have stopped working. The Fitbit is synching without problems, it's just the notifications. Very frustrating. Have tried everything that I could find of this forum: restarting the Flex multiple times, restarting my phone, deleting and installing the Fitbit app, turning bluetooth on and off, etc. What is there left to do?! The timing with the Android update is surely no coincidence, but my problem seems to be different to others who get nu sync at all. All help is appreciated.

@SunsetRunner Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Sorry to hear that you aren't geting notifications on your Flex 2 after updating your phone's OS. You can try going to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. Restart your phone and restart your device. After this try syncing them. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
Let me know how it goes!

Hi,
Thanks for the reply! I already tried all these steps, but to be sure I did them all again. I've restarted the tracker about six times and my phone four times. The fitbit has has all permissions, I went through my phone with great detail and turned all permisions on. I get this pop up screen from the fitbit app telling me that I have to link the tracker to the app. When I click on ''Okay" I get a warning saying there is something with the bluetooth. I have turned it off and on many times without result. There are no problems with other Bluetooth devices like my car kit or laptop. I am getting really frustrated as I use the Flex 2 more for the notifications than anything else...

any known solution? as I just got in the same trouble. tried above steps, nothing seems to work. bluetooth doesn't seem to be able to find my fitbit charge2 at all, but it does update the steps count etc. ... anything? anyone?

Hello Same problem for me with Alta and Android 9. Data collection works fine but no more notification. Fitbit does not have a solution.

It's July, and the folks at Fitbit have only given the one response? Has anyone come across a fix? It's going on with my Blaze, and for the life of me, I can't figure out what causes it, and how to fix it.

I have the same issue.
Fitbit Charge 2
Paired with Samsung Galaxy J5 runing Android 8.1.0 and notifications work fine.
Same Charge 2 paired with Sony Xperia XA2 running Android 9 and notifications do not work.
Been through all the troubleshooting steps. Fitbit tech support said my phone's not on their supported phones list so basically there is nothing they can do. It seems from other threads that for the last year Fitbit has not worked properly with most phones running Android 9.

I got tired of waiting for a solution so I sold my Fitbit and bought an Xiomi MiBand. It works perfectly (I've used it with different phones) and it doesn't hurt that is costs quite a lot less than the Flex 2...

I finally got a straight answer from support:
"I'd like to bring to your attention that this is a known issue that has just been reported to us and our engineering team is already aware of and actively working on a fix."
Looks like we wait for 3.2

The same general idea? I mean, all the workouts etc? works with android?
I am considering switching to something else, as after one year of using now my Fitbit does not hold charge longer than 24h. so disappointing. Got to research that Xiomi MiBand, thanks for the tip!

Just to say that the recent Charge 2 firmware update to 22.58.0 did not resolve this for me

Not waiting any longer, got fed up with the battery draining daily (come on, I'm not going to be buying new fitbit every year), got the Mi Fit, love it!
