I purchased a Flex and spent about 4 hours trying to get it connected to my Android device. While I was able to use the app and Flex on my laptop, it would not connect to Android. So I returned it and got a Flex 2. I charged it fully and tried to connect to to my Android device. I was prompted to go to my computer to complete setup. So I went to my laptop and tried to set up the Flex 2. However, it wouldn't connect to my Bluetooth and wanted an LE Bluetooth connection, which my laptop doesn't have. I was then prompted to connect the dongle instead. However the Flex 2 didn't come with a dongle and the package and setup page notes that the Flex 2 comes with a tracker, charging cable and two wristbands. So I must ask the makers of the Flex 2, why would you not include a dongle if a dongle is required to complete setup? I also ask why you use LE Bluetooth if not all computers have LE Bluetooth? So tomorrow I will return the Flex 2 and I can state with 100% accuracy that you have lost a customer. I will buy another fitness tracking device from another manufacturer. It has been a wholly unsatisfying experience trying to use your Fitbit products, and rather a waste of valuable time.

Is your Android device on the list of supported devices at www.fitbit.com/devices ?
It is a shame that the not all fitbit models come with a wireless dongle. Their rationale seems to be that a lot of people (perhaps most) use either a smartphone or have a recent computer. If, for example, you are running Windows 10 and use the fitbit app rather than the downloaded software then you won't need a fitbit dongle.
I'm sorry fitbit didn;t work out for you. Hopefully you'll find an alternative that's better for you.

Hi SteveH, thanks for your reply.
Fitbit's rationale isn't very rational. I am using Windows 10, and I have the correct app installed, but the installation wanted the dongle anyway, which wasn't included with my purchase. My device wasn't listed in their short list, but they boast fitbit works with Android on over 200 different devices. The packaging doesn't have any caveats, and states simply Sync wirelessly to Android. We'll never know if Fitbit would have worked on my device, because they didn't include a dongle. How do they expect me to get the Flex 2 up and running, without the needed hardware? They don't seem to be very organized.
