Friend message notification not clearing and keep showing as unread

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

After reading a Friend's messages, the count number for Unread messages goes down. But when I reopen App, it has the same four messages listed as Unread. Have tried re-reading them. Tried restarting phone.

Suggestions?

Thanks a bunch for your reply. Looking forward to hearing when the  fix is available.

Fitbit has been giving the same reply since well before I started this thread. Given the many months that it has been (and that they are saying they still do not expect to fix this in the immediate future) I suspect we'll never see a fix.

Does that mean no one will be following up with me from when I spoke to Customer Service? The tech said someone would get hold of me, so far, nothing. That’s when I decided to reach out in the forum. Wondering if the forum is where I should go first in the future?

I will be most pleased if someone from Fitbit actually reaches out to you.
I'll also be highly surprised. This is a long-lived issue. You'll find
other posts that predate mine (and, mine is quite old at this point). I
don't know what they could learn from you that they haven't heard from
hundreds of others. However, I'm old and cynical. I'll try hard to be
optimistic. Let me know if someone does contact you!

I’m going to knock on all the wood in my house...it seems to have been fixed with the recent app update.  For now.

I just checked mine and it’s still there 👎🏼

This is the same advice that Fitbit has been giving since I started this
thread (several months ago). It doesn't work - or at least - doesn't work
for everyone.

I received this same message a year ago. Like I said earlier....FItbit
doesn't have a clue as to what causes this and how to correct it. Just
something we have to live with.....

Why can fitbit just put in a delete option for messages. What is the thinking behind having to wait 30 days for a message to automatically be deleted.
