Sounds like your privacy settings; these can be set from app but I think easier to see all on web site.  Go to fitbit.com dashboard, click on gear icon top right, settings, Privacy (on left), and it lists all data fields that you can set who can see each item: private, friends only, or public. 

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
