Hating my versa special edition already!

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just purchased a new versa special edition. I can't get it to stay synced via Bluetooth or receive any notifications from my phone. I had to retire my last fitbit zip device. I have a Samsung Gear 2 that I would where when I am not at work so that I didn't break it. I thought that I would get the versa and be good to go but not yet and not liking it.

My Samsung S10 is updated (Jan 13th) latest software. I have tried all the other things that every one including fitbit themselves thru the forums.

@scwayneman are you saying that you don't receive any notifications or just not text which is an issue that affects some S10 users.

When notifications stop working and a phone restart doesn't help, I usually log out and in. The app then asks to renew all permissions pertaining to notifications.

@Rich_Laue I don't get any notifications. Text, incoming calls, calendar, email, nothing. It syncs with my fitbit app and my virgin pulse account fine. When I go to my bluetooth settings it does't show up right away until I scan again. When it does show up as an available device. When I tap it to pair it. It starts for a second pairing then goes right back to available device and not in paired devices. My Gear 2 and pilot are paired devices and work normal. The Gear 2 and pilot have not been on when I have tried to pair the versa.

@scwayneman your tracker syncs with your Fitbit account, your Virgin account syncs with your Fitbit account, not your tracker.

Yes your tracker needs to be a trusted device for notifications to work, but as previously mentioned, the fitbit app needs to do this.

There is nothing you can do on the screenshot pages. Trying to pair your tracker through this page should give a warning of rejected by Versa 2.

Your screenshot however show's the Versa 2 classic, and you should be able to pair this. Once paired you will then be able to control music on the phone through the wrist.

Before notifications can work the Versa 2. -classic needs to be trusted.

This is done by granting permissions for the Fitbit app.

What should I know about using the Fitbit app on my Android phone?

@Rich_Laue I finally got it. I had previously restarted my phone, bluetooth and watch. This time I deleted it out of my fitbit app and reinstalled it. I sent a test from one of my phones to my S10 and it came over and I sent a quick reply back from my versa.
