Have to re-login frequently after message "Unable to send message"

The android Fitbit app keeps forgetting me and I have to log back in.  After entering my credentials, I get a pop-up saying "Unable to send message.  Please try again later".  I immediately attempt to login again and it works.  This happens frequently.

I switched away from Fitbit but I still get the emails about this thread and it's honestly the first thing I thought too! So crazy to have to jump around thread to thread for answers or resolutions when the solution to one problem caused another. How many threads until you have a fully functioning app or watch? Super annoying! Especially because it took sooooo long for the original issue to be addressed and resolved 👎👎 how frustrating!

Log in problem is fixed, it seems. Now my battery is drained within 16 hours from full charge.

@KTone  No, Your data is uploaded to your account.

I started having this problem when I moved to a new phone. I use the Samsung app to move my data over to the new phone. The Fitbit app kept saying that I either had the wrong password, or that it was Unable To Send Message. That password let me log into the web page, so that was correct. Clearing cache didn't fix it, and neither did updating the app.

I finally deleted the app, rebooted the phone, and reinstalled the app to fix it. And then I rebooted the phone and the Fitbit before they could see each other.

I'm having the exact same issue after getting an Android 23. Is anyone going to fix this?

Same problem on Samsung 24 Ultra

Login attempt starts -> pause.... message pops up.... go to login again. enter in username and password again. Login succeeds.

Come back after a while (like over night to see sleep score) ... logged out and need to login again.

WiFi and Cellular are stable and fast.

I posted on this thread a while back that I too was getting the 'can't send message' error when opening my fitbit app. About 4 weeks ago my fitbit stopped syncing with the app completely so I had to talk to support. I ended up having to reset my Sense (holding the side button down for approx 10 secs until the fitbit logo appears), and it now syncs again. A side effect of the reset has been that I haven't had to log back into the fitbit app once since resetting. If you too are having this log in issue then it might be worth trying to rest your fitbit and see if this fixes it for you too 😄

Thanks for the tip but I have the Charge 5. There isn't a side button the charger has a reset button. Tried that and the problem still remains. Given the amount of people with the same issue, it appears the app needs to be fixed for newer Androids. I have the same model FitBit and it worked on my S10.

Same issue for the last month.
Samsung Galaxy A32
Android Version 13
Fitbit up 4.26.1

@Fitbit. When are you going to fix this, it is now beyond a joke

Additionally, synching has got worse and I have to reset my Sense to Sync but then I can lose days of data if it hasn't sync'd.

Gone downhill since it became Google.

I followed these instructions and it looks like it's fixed (on S24). 🤞

I just saw a YouTube video that says there is a reset button on the charger cable.  Says to plug it in, connect your fitbit, press the button for 1 second 3 times and it should reboot.  Haven't tried it yet but will soon.

Follow along as I show you how to restart Fitbit Charge 5 (which is the same as how to reboot Fitbit Charge 5). If your screen is black or unresponsive to taps and/or swipes, you'll need to use your charging cable (charger). ⏰ Timestamps: 0:00 - If you're Charge 5 *is* responding to taps and ...

I did the restart and reset. Neither has fixed the problem. Thank you though.

I didn't work for me either 🙁  but it's good to know how to reset using the charging cable as opposed to navigating awkward menus.

Replying to myself as for me it is fixed.  What did it take?  Ans. A new phone.

Got a new A35 and did a restore.  Hey presto, it all works now.

Not saying that people need a new phone but looks like it was a compatibility issue,
