Heart rate displays in app

I noticed different heart rates displayed in graphs: e.g. for an exercise (running) of yesterday

- heart rate graph displayed in the graph you get after you tap on Heart rate tops at 117bpm

- heart rate displayed in exercise (auto-recognised) tops at 160bpm

While running I glanced at the watch and saw at least once a bpm of 157.

How come the basic heart rate display showss much lower bpm, as I often noticed? I imagined it is averaging over longer time interval, but this is not explained. Right?

@Vinab yes you are correct. The HR in the exercise is sampled more often than the general one. So spikes in the HR are picked up in the reading attached to the exercise but not on the general daily one.

No amount of turning things on and off, synching and resynching, or different models of phone will make any difference. The app has been like this for years.

Hello Lilbiddy!

Thanks for your comment, you are comforting me: that's how things are, and they are going to stay like this until the powers that be will make up their mind and cough the money for better coding.

I am sick and tired terminally of the standard answer we get from customer support - now called community. Just read the comment above: what Android, what application, cancel reset download and login again. I've done this several times, with fitbit since 2013 but they are not the only ones, always feeling more and more silly. I always wanted to shout: I have the latest android on the latest google piece of plastic, with the latest release fitibit was pleased to distribute, who do you think I am? Then I tell myself, dont' be arrogant, what do you think you are, a professor of computer science? And I cancel, reset, download and login again, and nothing has changed.

So I won't need to do it this time, thanks again!
