Can I track miles ridden on my fit bit or is it limited to time and pulse only?

Hello @BlueKnight, let me start by giving you a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community! It will depend of the tracker you have.
Any tracker is capable to calculate distance by multiplying your walking steps and walking stride length. Similarly, your running steps are multiplied by your running stride length.
I saw on your Community profile you have paired a Charged 2, so you can use the bike activity with connected GPS to have distance.
Syncing your tracker stores the workout in your exercise history. There you can find additional stats and see your route if you used connected GPS.
Hope this information helps. Let me know if you have other questions!

Nice but when I ride the phone stays at home, will this be an issue ? I have auto recognition turned on for bike so why do I need to turn it on anyway., I also posted another question regarding riding my motorcycle and it reading the ride and the fit bit recording it as an exercise even with everything turned off. Whats with that, true it does not record but as soon as I turned everything back on it recorded the whole days ride.

Hello @BlueKnight, thank you for your questions. Leaving your phone indeed is a big deal since the GPS data is provided by your phone, so not having your phone won't allow to track this information.
Also you have auto-recognition of Outdoor Bike with your tracker, but this option won't display any distance data from your exercise. So is optional to use either Connected GPS or SmartTrack but keep in mind both will provide you different type of information.
About your question of riding motorcycle, I'm wondering what are you referring with turning back on everything? What is recording your tracker when you ride your motorcycle? If your tracker is reading data while you are riding your bike, note your tracker in the essential form is motion sensor and most of the times when it detects a constant vibration, your tracker might translate this information as exercise. If this is the case, what I do is to remove my steps using the driving activity. If you need more details about this please review the following post.
Hope this information helps. See you soon!
