I had an iPhone and sold it to get an Huawei Mate 10 pro. Only now I’ve found out my phone isn’t compatible. Will there ever be? Or have I just made my newly acquired Fitbit just a watch

A Fitbit watch is not all about tracker. Its additional functions such as caller notification and messages notification are equally important as well - that's the reason why such functions are implemented in the first place! And when these functions in a fitbit watch no longer work with certain phones, it is as good as just wearing a normal watch and carry your smartphone around with tracker apps installed! Duh.

This thread seems to have been inactive for a while. I just wanted to know if anyone has come right with their fitbit devices and Huawei phones

Doesn't work for my Charge 3 and Huawei Nova 2 at all. I disconnected Charge 3 from Fitbit app and then tried to pair the devices (phone and bracelet) only via bluetooth. After a brief waiting a message appeared Pairing Failed. Incorrect pairing key or the device you want to pair with configured incorrectly.
So, maybe it works for Charge 2, for Charge 3 it doesn't.

Hello @SunsetRunner.
This could be happening because the Huawei Nova 2 is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone.
As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the syncing.
If none of the above works, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello @nadeem_k and @SunsetRunner.
@SunsetRunner Hopefully you can consider Fitbit again in the future.
@nadeem_k It is certainly a possibility. Like I mentioned, as long as the minimum requirements are met there is a possibility that it will work flawlessly. The thing is that we are not able to guarantee the functionality if it is not on the list.
Glad to read that it is working properly for you. Hopefully it continues like that indefinitely.
Feel free to let me know if there is anything that I can help you with.

Am I getting this right ? Fitbit hardly does anything with regards to compatibility with the the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world ??? Wow ... I was about to buy, but that definitely puts me off - and it might explain the really bad ratings you get on the Charge 3. Get your act together, guys !!! And repeatedly saying "there is a possibility that it will work flawlessly" clearly just doesn't cut it ...

Prior to purchasing my Fitbit Charge 3, I was told by the store sales person that my Huawei Mate 10 is not compatible with Fitbit.
I went on and purchased it to give it a try with the option to return it back if it does not work. So far its working just fine.
EDIT
Now just over a week since I am using my Charge 3, I just realised notification are not always sync'ed from my mobile to my Charge 3. However, until now, syncing from Charge 3 to my mobile has been working just fine.
