I got sync issues since I changed from an Sony Xperia phone to a Huawei P30 lite phone. Since the last update it won't sync at all anymore (I read I'm not the only 1 having these issues, also other phones aren't being synced anymore).
Apparently Huawei isn't tested yet by Fitbit, but Fitbit is using that excuse for over 2 years now instead of start testing and make the app work properly with my Huawei. When I bought my Fitbit the specs for using it with a phone was a certain Android version and Bleutooth version that had to be available on a phone, and on my phone those versions are correct. If I had known my Fitbit wouldn't be working correct with certain brands of phones I wouldn't have bought a Fitbit. It's an expensive gadget and it's useless without the app. In my opinion Fitbit should have been more open about that.
Moderator edit: updated subject for clarity
Don't get your hopes up, it seems to be very tempermental. sometimes it works a little with an update (which i think is just random luck), but most of the time it just doesn't sync properly or requires manual syncing prompts every time.
Personally, I think Huawei shouldn't be listed as a compatible model, I reckon they do it just to increase their marketing audience.
Best AnswerHi I've just telephoned FitBit about the syncing problem with Huawei phones in general and they seem to have no idea that this is a problem. And since using this forum I'm getting friend requests from females using only their first names and an initial for their last. Spooky.
Best AnswerHi I am having major problems with syncing my charge 4 to my p30 lite. Bluetooth is saying its paired but the app is saying no device found. It will not aut sync or manually sync. The charge 4 is absolutely useless with out the app. I have tried all steps to sync the two still it won't sync and I do not receive notifications on my watch, no weather or connection to Spotify. I am very disappointed and wish to god I never got a fitbit. Can you please tell me how to resolve this issue.

Best AnswerYou hit the nail on the head.
They've got our money, now they are just walking away with it, washing their hands of us.
Their app is crap, but they won't fix it.
Best AnswerI have Charge 4 and Huawei P30 Lite and sync issue is definitely there.
Are there any instructions or news on this?
I've bought the device 2 weeks ago and already doesn't work properly.
Syncing is almoust not possible.
I'd suggest getting a refund on it, the sync has been there for almost a year and it won't be fixed anytime soon.
Best AnswerGood I found these posts. Was about to give my mother a charge 4 for her birthday. But she has a P30 lite. Perhaps I should buy her a Samsung watch instead.
I hope all your problems will be resolved. But Fitbit doesn't give me reasons to believe it will work properly anytime soon unfortunately.
Nicely done Fitbit!
Best AnswerRunning Android 10 on my Huawei P30 Lite, it is a nightmare getting sync with my Fitbit Charge 5, how comes it does not work every time.
I disassociated my Fitbit, and restarted Bluetooth association, last time, it works for a moment. And I cannot associated my Charge 5 with my P30 at the moment, I am keeping on retrying, Fitbit application is finding my Charge 5 but fails to connect to it.
I rebooted my P30, I forced the Fitbit application to stop and restarted it, I disabled/reenabled Bluetooth, no change. Sounds like it is the Charge 5 that refuse to connect of something like this. I finally rebooted my Charge 5 but lost all data from yesterday 19:00.
It fails more often than succeed, since I have bought it in January 2022, it is not a pleasant experience to sync it.
Best AnswerIn my opinion there are 2 things you can do:
- Buy another activity tracker (Huawei tracker).
- Buy another brand of smartphone.
Because Fitbit will never make Huawei compatible with an activity tracker that's not the newest version activity tracker that Fitbit sells.
After struggling for over 2 years with serious sync problems I decided to buy a new phone and not a new tracker.
Not because I'm not disappointed in Fitbit, but because Huawei will always have issues with other software in the European and American market.
Now I've got a Samsung Galaxy 52 5G and from day one my Fitbit syncs perfectly again.
This is the only advice I can give you.
Best AnswerI'm having exactly the same issue on my P30 Lite since the update,
Won't sync or connect.
Now I've tried to uninstall and install I can't login!
So frustrating to say the least, what's the point having a fitbit if I can't use the functions?
Is there anyway I can use it with this phone as it has been OK until recently
Best AnswerI do not have any problem syncing since I change my P30 for a Samsung S20 FE 5G. Having experience this problem for more than 6 months, it is really annoying and I recommend you change your phone if you can as soon as possible.
