This may be difficult to fix.

That phone isn't on the fitbit's list of supported phones at www.fitbit.com/devices

This means that either it has been tested by fitbit and shown to not fully work, or it could just mean that it hasn't yet been tested. However, I did a search of the community and although I couldn't find any reference to that model, there are posts that suggest people are having problems with Thin Q phones.

All I can suggest is that you go through fitbit's troubleshooting guide at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1872/

I have a LG G6 that has linked fine with my Flex for a couple of years and now it can't find the fitbit. I tried linking my wife's Charge HR and same problem. It will rarely see a device for a brief time, but then it doesn't most of the time. I've gone thru all the trouble shooting steps multiple times - uninstall, reinstall, reboot, reset the fitbits, turn BT on and off. All other BT devices are running fine. Any ideas?

@dd_ill sounds like you have tried most of the normal steps to get syncing working again. One you didn't mention that has worked for me is to "forget" links to fitbits in the phone's bluetooth settings.

If that doesn't help - and you get no other ideas here - then it's probably best to contact customer support via contact.fitbit.com

A belated update. First, Steve, my Android phones have never shown my Fitbit as a BT device, so there was never any need to link it. Not sure if this is a Flex thing or an Android thing, but even after I refreshed repeatedly, it did not show up. Some other miscellaneous (that is literally how they are listed) devices did, but I am reluctant to connect to something when I am not sure what it is. Thanks for the idea.

I gave up for a while. Kept wearing my Flex, though I am not sure why, and tried to sync from time to time. No luck. Forgot to charge the Flex, so it ran all the way down. Removed and reloaded the app again, but did nothing with it for a week or so. Then I tried again, and now everything is working fine.

I cannot explain this. The app version I am using is from 8/30 (version 3.5) so maybe that version was not available on the play store until my last reinstall? Nothing else has changed - and since the app could not see my fitbit or my wife's, I do not think resetting my Fitbit again changed it. No Android updates during this time, and I do not think I have not removed any apps that could have created some issue.

In any case, working fine now, so if you have are having issues connecting with LG phones (mine is a G6) using Android 8.0.0 make sure you have version 3.5 or later of the Fitbit app. That is my best guess.
