I just got 3.50.1 - Fitbit Android App

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got 3.50.1 this morning. In the "what's new section n", 3.49.1 is latest ver. I find it strange new app version is released before it is announced.

Hi @LokeAa  same here this morning. I think that Fitbit has certain people whose job it is to announce the releases. With these releases roll out at different times, it might be they didn't expect us to get it so soon.

Hi @LokeAa - I also see it, but without knowing what it fixes or breaks will not be installing it. 3.44 works ok, so won't risk creating new problems for no reason.

@Guy_ I am a 😂😂😂daredevil

@Odyssey13 , the programmers should announce it in Play Store when they launch. One could hope Google as the owner would tell them to do so, but...Out of the bigger companies, both Google and Microsoft are good at announcing what is new.

@Guy_ , The app tile has disappeared, you find apps under gallery. What is new, is "readiness score", and your workouts shows in "Today".

@LokeAa @Guy_ @Odyssey13 Nice to see you around!

@Odyssey13 That is correct. I actually got the update until today.

@LokeAa Thanks for the feedback and additional info regarding the update. The "delayed" announcement is actually related to the fact that the update is released gradually. That means that not every user receives it at the same time. That is the reason the announcement takes a while.

@Guy_ You should not have any problem with the latest update. Please note that in order for the app to properly work, it should be up to date. However, if the older version is still working for you, that is not a problem either. 😁

@RodrigoMFitbit , those visiting the community can read. Delay the announcement because it is released gradually is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. It should be announced in time for the first receiving an update to see. Of course, it is a problem when users like @Guy_ is reluctant to upgrade because they are used to lose more than they gain from an upgrade.

Hi @LokeAa  - thanks for your great posts.

Why do users have to do the announcements work though. It is very helpful the information you provide.

I would love to see greater transparency from Fitbit so users can know in advance what to expect, that would be a great improvement.

Not sure if I'm impressed or suspicious. Received another version a few minutes ago. As the daredevil I am I installed it. As usual no information besides "Bug fixes and performance improvements".

@LokeAa  I always get the new app and just did again. It's worked  best for me when I do get the latest app.

App version 3.51 has appeared as available on my phone.

As usual no information on what it does appart from the usual "bug fixes yadda yadda". So I won't be loading it.

For some reason someone has moved this post here. It's nothing to do with 3.50.1

Not even a courtesy note to say it's been moved. I thought my post had been removed.

Thanks for that!

@Lilbiddy  I've had no problem since updating. I think often that they only tell us it fixes bugs because it's easier than stating each and every little thing it does correct. Anyway, I've always updated the app without any problems. Be brave with us!

Hi @Lilbiddy  - from experience, if it ain't broke don't fix it, seems to hold true, especially if you don't know what will change, and what you will have to change at your expense.

Unless there is something you need, don't make changes, you could end up with problems.

I'm still awaiting my first "Readiness" score?! As a result, I'm not sure if it's ok for me to work out today - also waiting for my score here is *raising* my new Stress score!! LOL 😆 (Seriously IMHO some Fitbit users sound like their watch runs their life.)

Hi @vlowell you're so right. I use my Fitbit as a guide or tool, but know people who live by it. Oh no, I didn't get a high sleep score or I didn't make my daily goal. They seem to be looking at their device or their phone more than seeing their surroundings. Hope your stress score finds you in mellow mode!
