Hello @EJMJ12.

Thanks for trying all of those steps to get your Fitbit to sync to your phone again.

As you mentioned, this is happening because the LG V40 ThinQ is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone. It is possible that an update on the phone or the app caused further optimization issues which led to this.

As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the syncing. You could also try to remove the Fitbit from your phone's Bluetooth settings and then run the set up again as if it was a brand new device.

If none of the above works, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks for telling me to do exactly what I have already done a bunch of times. Fitbit support is a real help. How about y'all fix your issues with the android platform so you dont loose half of your client base.

You have GOT to be kidding me. The LG V40 is not a supported device? Will it ever be? How long is this going to take? What the heck am I supposed to do in the meantime? I guess I should have switched to a smartwatch when they were on sale.

I have the LG v40 with a versa and I had the same issue, I started back from the very beginning and it comes to the portion where it wants the wifi setup. I skip that part. I know the wifi is a nice option to have but I believe updates with still be pushed via Bluetooth. Just slower. I am two in with reboots, turning wifi on and off and as long as I'm in range it syncs fine and I get notifications ok. Not the best fix but seems stable and allows me to use the watch without intervention. It seems the issue comes from setting up wifi on the device, so I basically skipped that and it works.

Do you know when the V40 will be compatible? I would like to upgrade to the Versa so that I don't have to keep switching between my FitBit's when I swim, but would really like it to sync...otherwise, what's the point? I don't want to have to use my computer every time I want to see my data. The V40 runs the newest versions of everything, so it SHOULD be compatible. Guess I'll have to wait for FitBit to fix the issue so I don't waste my money. I'm sad because I was really excited to upgrade 😞

I'm not sure if or when they would upgrade, but I believe several of the LG
devices will be getting the new Android Pie os. I think Fitbit also plays a
part in compatibility support. I have used the Fitbit versa with my lgv40
without any issues. The only thing I have noticed is if I connect the
Fitbit to the wifi I have the sync issue. It has worked fine and I had zero
issues. Bluetooth works fine for what I do and allows me to sync my data to
my phone. I can still push apps to the watch. I haven't tried sending music
over to the watch. I honestly think you would be content with the watch and
your LG phone. If you want to try the wifi and test it yourself you can but
if the sync issue happens, just remove the device from Fitbit and add it
back. Honestly when it first happened I was bummed and almost went back to
Apple or Samsung, but I like this phone and I don't miss the wifi on it. I
still get my message notifications to show up also. I would be happy to
help you if you decide to buy one and need any help.

I'm also having issues with my versa that I just bought yesterday. Now I'm taking it back, I don't need a $200 paperweight!! Why would you make a product that works with some phones but not others, especially new phones? No wonder fitbit is losing money!!
