Issues with nutrition and weight graphs after update

With the latest app update, most of the charts have become unusable. On the weight chart, I can no longer distinguish between the weight and the trend (because they are the same color). Also, I can no longer tap on the screen and get the date for that data point. Also, the x axis on the charts is now fixed to the range of the chart, not the range of the data. Also I can no longer swipe to move from one chart to the next. Also, many chart have been removed.

Who thought that this update was a good idea? Did they do any user testing on this update?

Please rollback this update so I can get the old charting behavior back.

I don't think much of the new format you've introduced on the app.

Specifically, the weight tracker.

I think most people would agree they'd like to readily see the previous 7, 30, 90, 180 or 365 days (like before the changes).

Not just 2 days if recording weight on Sun & Mon.

Not the first 5 days if recording on the 5th, but from the 6th of the prev month to the 5th of this month. Etc.

Yep, seems like they took away the most useful functionality to make it more like google fit, which has a worse user experience. Sigh.

When I click on the Food tab then go to the '+' at the top everything works fine. I'm able to add my Food and long my Nutrition intake. The issue is the graph bar at the top and the wheel on the right sometimes it glitches and gives me inaccurate measurements or no measurements at all like I didn't eat anything that day. The graph bar at the top removed all my calories intake except for the present day I'm working on.

Agreed, need to be able to see previous 7/30/365 days at a glance, and scroll through easily to see trend data. Please fix.

I agree with all the others. The update is horrible. The charts are too small and can no longer be rotated to get more detail. My miles chart shows km even though my setting is for miles and miles shows up everywhere else. It is a shame that an app can ruin your experience with a perfectly fine tracker. Fitbit better get busy before everyone jumps ship.

I agree with everything you wrote. An update that never should have been released.

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.

Thanks for keeping me posted, as well as your efforts while working on this matter. I understand where you're coming from and I apologize for the issues experienced with the Android Fitbit app. As mentioned before, our team is aware of those issues and they're working hard to identify a solution as soon as possible.

For the ones that want to learn more about the new look of the Android charts and how to navigate through them, click here.

I appreciate your feedback and I'll update this thread once I have more details to share.

I know the solution. You just fire the new UX person you hired, get a QA, and rollback the update.

I thought tech companies are supposed to be nimble.

Perhaps their development time could be better spent fixing the myriad bugs. We can dream.

I agree these new charts are terrible and they need an option to go back to the previous version.

If you can't cancel the premium format for the duration this is like asking for a miracle! You should be allowed to choose ..........

As I've said before, the updates are completely unacceptable and need to be fixed.  I pay a LOT of money for Premium and to have the app almost useless for most of the features I use is terrible.  I have found that removing the weight goal, as someone said previously, does help scale the graphs somewhat better (they are still terrible - Fitbit don't think this is a "fix").

Before removing the goal my week scale was +/- 20 lbs (maybe they expect us to cut off one of our body parts to see a change?).  Once I removed the goal the line scaled to +/- 2 lbs which is actually fairly reasonable.  I still hate the fact I can't go full screen, that it's a calendar week, month and year and that the trendline is buried, but it's a tiny bit less heinous.  I've attached screenshots of the before and after.

To do this:  On the weight goal page push the 3 button option at the top right and remove your goal.

Removing your weight goal improves the new weight charts somewhat, but unfortunately if you remove your weight goal then you are also removing the daily calorie budget (that is partially based on the weight goal).

I read last week that the new charts update was supposed to be rolled out to Android users first, with iOS to follow later. Anyone know if iOS users have gotten the update yet?

Best Answer

Totally agree.   New charts are terrible across the board. Not the way I track hiw I am doing.

I really hope they don't roll this out to anyone else!  On the bright side, if they do, the Apple community will really throw a fit all over the Internet to get it fixed.

What bothers me is that Fitbit  is seeing this whole chaos on their Fitbit Community ..   With that said are they concerned ________? Just saying

I just really wanna know how to change the weight trends back to the daily pounds, the average is not going to help me know how much i am consistently using.

losing, not using, my bad.

I should have said. Its not just the weight graphs.   With the update the recent activity tracking is worse as well.   You used to be able to compare all aspects of exercise with 'recent' equivalents.   Now you get one line graph that only shows distance travelled - hardly the only significant thing.   Not sure who thinks any of this is an improvement?

Hello everyone!

I appreciate your feedback and your patience regarding the new graphs on the Fitbit app. We have gotten confirmation, that chart Improvements for the estimated oxygen variation and weight trends charts will be available in a new release this month. Keep the app updated to receive the latest changes/improvements.

Thanks again for your patience. Have a nice day!
