LG-M327 not compatible

It appears that my LG-M327, even though it's android, isn't compatible with the fitbit charge 3.  It will load and sync, but doesn't accurately track steps, stairs, bike rides and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to track dragon boating, SUP or kayaking.  Some features work, but not always and not accurately.  It's too late to return it now so I am very aggravated!

Hi @Aggrevated . Sorry to say, your phone is not on the list of supported devices. But what OS is your phone on? If it’s not on Android OS 5.0 or higher ... and you can upgrade it ... you may have a better chance of more features working.

I had NO idea there might be a problem, but my Versa 2 arrived yesterday.  I downloaded and installed the app but the watch would never install the new updated software.  It said maybe 20 minutes...but it never did after many attempts... all day.  The watch also was plugged in for many hours, but the battery would only go to 63%.  

Do I understand that I will just have to return the Versa 2 or get a new phone?
