I never use stairs. I don't have the opportunity in my every day life to use them. However, yesterday I logged over 34 flights of stairs and today I'm over 9 flights. This is an ongoing problem and I don't understand it. Please help...

Hello @Krista73 thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'm happy to see you again participating in our Community and help you out with this.

To provide you with better assistance, can you please let me know if you're referring to floors data that was manually logged or if you're referring to the information that your Fitbit device synced? At this moment. it's not possible to delete steps and floors but you can achieve the same result by negating them. For instructions to do so, please check How do I delete steps and floors?

Keep me posted.

Hi @Krista73 thanks for your reply and the details posted. My sincere apologies for the delayed reply.

Let me share with you that your device uses both an accelerometer and altimeter to track floors, and registers a floor when detecting continuous motion combined with an elevation gain of about 10 feet.

Your device may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes. Also, exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors. I recommend you to wear your device loosely during any exercise and restart your Charge 2 to refresh it's performance.

Let me know how it goes. I'll be here if you need anything else.

If my Fitbit has an accelerometer, why can't it distinguish between floors climbed by walking/running and driving? Surely any speed over 25mph should be ignored unless specifically recording a run or cycle? I am a recent Fitbit purchaser, and am not enjoying the comparison to my previous Garmin tracker.

I have the same problem. I do climb stairs daily. However, my Versa logs steps as stairs while I walk around a park or use my elliptical. I just finished an hour walk and logged 190 stairs in a day. Although I appreciate the two badges I earned in the process, I do not have the bragging rights because I did not deserve them. What can I do to fix this issue?

I did restart my Fitbit Versa but I am still experiencing the same problem.
Yesterday I used my elliptical and it recorded that I climbed 125 floors of
stairs. What can be done about this?

I did a factory reset as instructed by customer services. My Fitbit is still recording floors that I didn't climb. I finished using my elliptical and it had recorded 62 floors. I did weightlifting right after that. When I finished, my Fitbit recorded 72 floors. What is the solution for this? It is quite annoying and customer service is not responding to my complaint.

Since you already received assistance by our Support team, I suggest you to contact them back if you require further assistance or if you have any additional questions about the outcome of your case with them since the factory reset procedure that was suggested before didn't resolve your concern.

Hey.

Just wondering, does my Inspire 2 log floors automatically or do I have to do it manually?

@Daniel_N. Neither. The Inspire 2 does not have the option to count stairs.
