I don't have premium, either; now I'm glad I did not invest in that. Some people are happy with the changes; I guess those of us who are not are just out of luck. We'll just have to pretend it's not there. I wonder why they changed the bar colors, though. Are green, yellow (amber) and red only meaningful in the USA? They substituted ugly (IMO), meaningless colors for them.

I recently noticed the macro section of my food log but I don't believe it's working? It just shows a gray circle but tapping on it does nothing and even though my food is showing up below and my budget is calculated accurately, my macros don't show up.

I log most of my meals through sparkpeople and that is linked to my fitbit account- could that be why the feature doesn't work for me?

Hello @Tewald@REM00009. It's nice to see you again too @messner and welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community @Blackberet

Thank you all your for different feedback about the new feature of macronutrients, I'm glad to see you like this feature @messner. Note there is no need to have premium subscription to have available this option. I have reviewed your screenshots and you have the correct screen for macronutrients.

The idea it shows macronutrients in grams sounds good to me. If this is something in which you're interested, please our Feature Suggestions Board and contribute with your ideas. This is a great way to let us know what you'd like to see in the future.

@Blackberet, this is something that I have tried with MyFitnessPal. When you logged food from third party apps you wont have this information. Only food logged through the Fitbit app will be count for Macronutrients.

See you around fellow and thank you for all your comments.

Ive just seen the new macros section in the nutrition area. Does anyone know what the unrecognized calories are and what they mean?

thank you

It's great to have you here @SunsetRunner! I've moved your post to this thread because it's more related to the topic. The unknown calories means that you've logged quick calories, so Fitbit doesn't know where exactly they fall in the macro range and that's why they appear in the "unknown range".

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

I add my food via myfitnesspal and it Come in to fitbit dash board log on my computer as snacks summary and it brakes up in the 3 macronutrients. But with the android ap on my phone it does not show the macronutrients from my fitnespal. Fitnesspal have a swedish food data base that I use.

It's great to see you around @messner! I appreciate the pics that you attached. There was an issue with macronutrients from MyFitnessPal to Fitbit. However, it should be resolved now. I would like you to make sure that you have the latest version of the app which 2.48 and double check if the macronutrients show properly.

Hope this helps.

While I LOVE that Fitbit now tracks macro-nutrient breakdowns, the percentages are totally useless to me as the only output. 😞

I have a goal of reaching 180 grams of protein, but the percentages constantly change based on total calories in, and the different foods that I eat each day.

I was very excited about the new macro-nutrient feature, and tried it for about 3 days, but now I stopped, and had to move back to myfitnesspal in order to track my protein, carb and fat grams each day.

I can't wait for the day that I can see those gram breakdowns, and Fitbit could become my main/only fitness tracking app.

I have asked for the option of real data instead of percentages. They are
worthless to me, too; just taking up precious screen space.

It does not work and I have the latest 2.48 firmware for the app. I have logged food via fitbit but the food from myfitnesspal that I have looged just show 1662 uncategorized cals.

See how yours shows % carbs, % fat, % protein? Mine just shows a %. I don't know which % is for which category?  Do you know if I can change it somewhere to show the words carbs, fat and protein with the %?

Also, I do not know what a healthy range is. So, when it shows me a % I do not know if I'm over or under etc. How do i get that info?

Any possibility of seeing grams along with percentages? Or being able to set macro goals?

It's great to have you here @hannaschmidt89! Currently, it's not possible to set macro goals or being able to see grams along with percentages. However, you may want to vote for this ideas  macros in grams instead of only percentages in the app and Macronutrient Targets

Is there a way to see a per meal breakdown rather than a daily breakdown.I would love to see a percentage breakdown for each meal/snack that I log.

Welcome to the Community @Mickmore! Currently, it's not possible to change the way the Macronutrients are displayed in the app. However, you can post your idea in our Feature Suggestion board because those are viewed by our engineers and developers.

Whenever I choose a food item in the log and change the portion size, I see the calories change, but not the nutrition fact data whenever I click on the link. So, it seems as if the calories are changing but the nutritional info defaults to whatever the original portion size was. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

I think it calculates it in your percentage, for the nutrition data, but outside of calories, you can't see the info. The nutritional data is just the serving info, so you have to calculate it yourself it you want the exact info outside of calories. I was hoping that was a change we would see soon.
