Maps and data do not save unless activity started from the watch

As the title describes. Map and run data does not save unless I start the run from the watch itself. If I start it through the app nothing saves. 

 

Running android 8 and latest version of the app from the play store.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Please know that our team is aware of the situation and it is being looked into. At this time we do not have any news on the matter but we'll be sure to let everyone know as soon as we have something.

 

In the meantime I'd recommend that you try to track all activities using only your Fitbit device to avoid missing data.
