Motorola X Play only sync when BTLE unpaired

Hey there,

Just thought I'd let you know that the only way I can get my surge to pair with my Moto X Play is by 'forgetting' the BTLE (low energy Bluetooth) labeled 'Surge' while 'Surge Classic' is showing as connected.

This is an absolute pain in the butt because after a minute or two it repairs and doesn't sync anymore. Also notifications come very rarely and randomly when 'Surge Classic' or 'Surge' is connected.

I've been through all the other steps of troubleshooting to no avail. This phone is running Android 6.0.1.

Please help me with a solution to fix as currently I think the only one is to delete 'Surge' while connected to 'Surge Classic' and then turn on 'start connected' mode, which drains the battery too much.

Please help! Any ideas?

No worries, as an update I've found the most reliable way to connect my
Motorola X Play (Australia) or Motorola X (us) is to unpair, delete the
app, reinstall, repair and NEVER ask it to give call and text
notifications. I've had the longest time without troubleshooting sync
issues this way.

Having said all this my method still isn't perfect and I find myself still
waiting minutes to connect sometimes where other times it's great.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has the same phone and is able to do any
of the following:
1. Sync on command at any time (for longer than a couple of days) what
settings are you using?
2. Enable notifications (and actually still be able to sync on command)
3. Have their music controls not flash and reconnect all the time when in
music mode.

I've now has this experience with a brand new fitbit as well since I
returned my old one due to faulty strap. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for getting back @Semore Smiley Wink! Have you checked that your Motorola is included in the supported devices?

Which one is yours?

If it's listed, but you are still having the syncing issues I'd recommend trying the suggestions I've shared here.

Hope that helps!

Thank you!!! This worked for my Moto X Play (Canada) with Lollipop 5.1 and BLE 4.0 (not sure if mine has the dual sim or not) and FitBit Flex 2. Worked perfectly for the first 3 days of having it (even notifications), now have to unpair to get it to sync properly.

Hopefully FitBit fixes this... pretty unacceptable to launch a new product that isn't compatible with a phone that come out in 2015...

I'm glad to hear that worked for you @JE7508! And I totally understand that my friend, Fitbit is the first fitness device to offer Bluetooth Smart syncing with your Android device. Wireless sync has been a frequently requested feature from our Android users, so we've been eager to get support out as quickly as possible. While many Android devices have a Bluetooth 4.0 chip, not all devices are able to be accessed by apps like the Fitbit App.

To see the latest list of supported devices, please go here. If your device isn't listed, you can check the link at a later date to see if device support has been added.

I really appreciate your understanding while we work to improve this experience, and encourage you to let us know if you have any additional feedback on this and other features.
