But ya see, they're a BIG DEAL public company and now play to their shareholders, not their customers.

@Dragonfruit and to all please , this is a very good point, please remember that if you do go down this route a file is downloaded scan the file with an anti virus before installing/running file/app, on the flip side as mentioned by another if Fitbit gave us the opportunity either in app or have there own page of historic updates this wouldn't be an issue

Maybe we need to find a way to talk to the shareholders!

Well I just posted this on a stock research and analysis web site that I've used in the past:
Considering the way the company ignores its users, forces design updates on their software apps that remove functionality instead of improving the product, I think that FitBit is out of touch with the market. IMO, the company is a leader largely because it was first to market.
I don't own the stock and if I was "in the market" I wouldn't buy it based on my first hand experiences with the company and its product.
We'll see if anyone comments further.

I still really like the Fitbit platform. I do *strongly* prefer the old Android app to the new (and have manually installed the 2.47 APK file to get it back, for now).
I find it troubling that Fitbit won't simply acknowledge their user's concerns. With so many competing fitness platforms you'd think they would step-up their customer service & communication.

I too am very annoyed - but resigned to things always getting worse the more that they are "developed". I was trying to persuade my brother to buy a Fitbit (and he was about to). I'll tell him not to bother now.

Why did you guys changed the old, useful and practical dashboard? I hate everything about the new dashboard. If I know that I can not change it back, I would never buy a fitbit product, and I will tell every friends of mine to search for a non fitbit made activity tracker.
I am so upset! I was crazy for my charge 2 and the app, and now I am thinking to throw it into a trashcan.

I'm extremely disappointed to hear that Fitbit will not give the 'customer' the option of returning to the old dashboard. The new one does not give me all of my information without having to tab and tap other icons. I'm sorry I updated to the Blaze and I will no longer be using my Fitbit as it is intended...my blaze will be a glorified watch. It's disgusting that a company puts customers second.

When uninstalling the current version, is all the food data that was entered lost? I plan to uninstall this mess and reinstall 2.45 from apkmirror. I hate to have to enter all the food data again.
Any good suggestions for a replacement for my Alta?

@Country0851, all synced data is stored on the Fitbit servers, not locally, so your information on calories, steps etc won't be lost.
I'm not sure though that would happen to custom food lists.

You should have asked your customers what they preferred before making this decision. The old dashboard was better.

To even think about doing that, they would have to care what their customers want, and Fitbit has demonstrated an almost total lack of concern about that.

The fact that they "don't have any plans" to change their terrible new Apple-like interface may indicate that Fitbit is preparing to be bought out by Apple, as some analysts have suggested in their reviews. This would explain a lot.

Not sure why Apple would want them. The [much more expensive] Apple watch is outselling all of Fitbit's products combined.

With then saying they have no plans of giving us the option of the old dashboard I will not be buying another fitbit when my charge 2 fails. It is a bummer but I will have to go with something else.

Well, they obvoiusly aim at attracting a segment of the Apple watch market. Very poor business desicion if you ask me.

I hate the new Dashboard and won't use it or the fit bits I have. I really looked forward to my progress and the happy face when I hit my goal. I could give a **ahem** about the graphic that apparently has me going in circles. I am going to delete the app and don't intend to buy any of your lame future fitbit if they include that graphic. I also hate the way the **ahem** diet kept creeping on after I'd try to take it off.

@RussD15 Thanks so much for detailing the instructions for reverting back to the older version that allowed us to choose between both formats 🙂 Works like a charm except for the sleep hours not populating. But I can still easily find that data when I want it by tapping the moon icon. All the other lines immediately populate when I open the app. It also syncs much faster for me. Very nice!

This completely Sucks!!! I have tried the new dashboard in the past, several times and it just doesn't fit the bill for me. I was always able to switch it back until I got my new Charge 2 just this past Tuesday.
I had updated the app well before that and I still had the old dashboard. It wasn't until I synced my Charge 2 and deleted my Charge HR that it set itself to the new dashboard. I looked everywhere for a way to switch it back, but I couldn't.
I hate it with a passion!!! I'll just have to put up with it I guess, but it seems that you are getting a LOT of complaints from people who don't like it. So why don't you just give us back the option to choose which dashboard we wish to use? THAT would be proper customer service in my opinion!
