Fitbit Update 06/7/17: Thanks everyone for your feedback on the new Android dashboard. We have relayed this information to our Android team. This thread will now be closed, as the Android team has no plans to revert back to the old dashboard. We're always working towards making improvements to the app and appreciate your cooperation on future app updates.

Fitbit Update 05/22/2017: Hi everyone -- I've read through every post in this thread and the major feedback points and concerns can be summarized as the following:

  • General disappointment with the change (no specific details provided)
  • Lots of empty space/more scrolling/clicks required
  • Bottom tiles don't scroll data with days
  • Unable to fully customize top section with tiles from the bottom section
  • Prefer linear UX design
  • Difficult to read/no dark theme available
  • Can't swipe between days, only able to click to scroll through days
  • Can't to resize tiles

Please let me know if there's something specific that is not on this list. I have relayed this information to our Android team and at this time, it doesn't sound like there are any plans to revert access to the old Dashboard.

I know that any change is going to be a little jarring, but please remember to keep your posts respectful and on-topic, per our Community Guidelines. This thread will be better for everyone as a constructive conversation.

Fitbit Update 04/24/2017: Hi everyone -- Beginning with the release of the Android app version 2.48, the new Fitbit app Dashboard with the updated look will be fully implemented. Users will no longer have the option to switch to the old Dashboard design, so I encourage you to check it out if not already using it.

We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services and we appreciate all of the feedback we receive from our customers. We currently do not have any plans to revert this change; you can find more information about the app and how to start using it by clicking here.

@Mdandy, you may wish to take a look at the past couple of pages of this thread:

Please note that the "accepted solution" marked on the first page doesn't work anymore.

My dashboard has gone onto the new one again.  This time however, it won't let me go back to the old dashboard. When going through Avanced Settings there is no longer the option to do this. Can anyone help me to revert to OLD DASHBOARD

The new dashboard looks great, but is missing an important feature the old one had: the ability to scroll through ALL the tiles when you swipe to see previous days.

I hope that this is something Fitbit is working on - why would anyone be interested in only seeing the top 5 dials when they're looking at previous days, and still see today's data for the bottom tiles? I can't imagine a use scenario where that is desired.

If this is not in the works, please take it as a request. Thanks.

Erick - can you explain why it was by design that the bottom tiles always show today's data? Hard to imagine in what situations that is useful.

I took to posting about the dislike of the new dashboard on their sponsored posts on Facebook.  I suggested before people buy one for Mother's day they look into the complaints here and on the google play store.  I hope they have horrible sales this year.  I've pretty much stopped looking at my stats anymore.  I'm really disappointed now that my band has lasted more than a year and i'm stuck with this piece of crap now.  They don't seem to care that many people don't like it and liked the "both" option they used to offer.

PollyM - read down through the thread of comments.  There are numerous directions on how to get the old dashboard back from different websites.  I personally used APK Mirror, searched for fitbit 2.47 & followed the directions from there.  Make sure you uninstall fitbit and uncheck the  automatic updates for fitbit once you reinstall the older version so it doesn't revert back to the newest version. You'll also need to go to your account settings to switch back to the old version.  Good luck.  Debbie

Another thing I just thought of today, the new dashboard looks like it belongs in Windows 8.  You know, the version of Windows that everyone hated.  The tiles were the pits.  Now we have tiles in the "newest" version of the dashboard.  Microsoft got rid of the Windows 8, PDQ.  How about it, fitbit?  Will you be smart enough to do the same?

How do I get the old dashboard back?  Do not like the new one at all; do not like the layout, cannot reorganize anything I want as the top items are now fixed; cannot swipe the days but have to press an arrow now and that only scrolls through the top items...can no longer swipe the entire days activities.  Prefer the flexibility of the old dashboard and the graph style progress bars.  May be going back to my Jawbone.

@DebbieMcPA But what you got to remember is even windows 8 gave you the option to have a normal desktop instead of tiles

Google fitbit 2.47. You can download the old version there, but make sure you turn off automatic updates. Once you download it, go to advanced settings. The first thing at the top is the option to revert back to the old dashboard.

ashwolve, you are right.  I'd forgotten that because I had them change it back to Windows 7 on my work computer almost as soon as I got it.  lol  We can only hope that fitbit does the same.

Can you please share the link to the 2.47 software.  I tried the first one that came up.  I downloaded it, opened and chose update when asked if I wanted to update the current application.  At which time it told me the application was not installed (which it is).  Thanks for your help.

Read back a few pages in this thread. Instructions have been posted multiple times on how to download the prior version of the app and install it so you can use the old dashboard.

Thanks BobM2.  I will try this when I get home from work.  Did not see the part requiring me to remove the current app.

Please be careful people if you're downloading the Fitbit 2.47 apk from an unofficial source. There is always a risk with sideloading apps that a virus or trogan could be embedded.

Would be so much easier if only Fitbit allowed us to download the earlier safe and trusted versions from their official site, right? Not to mention respect and consideration to their customers.
