Fitbit Update 06/7/17: Thanks everyone for your feedback on the new Android dashboard. We have relayed this information to our Android team. This thread will now be closed, as the Android team has no plans to revert back to the old dashboard. We're always working towards making improvements to the app and appreciate your cooperation on future app updates.

Fitbit Update 05/22/2017: Hi everyone -- I've read through every post in this thread and the major feedback points and concerns can be summarized as the following:

  • General disappointment with the change (no specific details provided)
  • Lots of empty space/more scrolling/clicks required
  • Bottom tiles don't scroll data with days
  • Unable to fully customize top section with tiles from the bottom section
  • Prefer linear UX design
  • Difficult to read/no dark theme available
  • Can't swipe between days, only able to click to scroll through days
  • Can't to resize tiles

Please let me know if there's something specific that is not on this list. I have relayed this information to our Android team and at this time, it doesn't sound like there are any plans to revert access to the old Dashboard.

I know that any change is going to be a little jarring, but please remember to keep your posts respectful and on-topic, per our Community Guidelines. This thread will be better for everyone as a constructive conversation.

Fitbit Update 04/24/2017: Hi everyone -- Beginning with the release of the Android app version 2.48, the new Fitbit app Dashboard with the updated look will be fully implemented. Users will no longer have the option to switch to the old Dashboard design, so I encourage you to check it out if not already using it.

We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services and we appreciate all of the feedback we receive from our customers. We currently do not have any plans to revert this change; you can find more information about the app and how to start using it by clicking here.

I suspect if you read the software license, which you "agreed to" the first time you opened the app, you'll find Fitbit can do whatever they want with the app, right down to deleting it from your device and leaving you with no app at all.

Hmm! You miss the point. How sad it is that a company treats it customers this way. If you rate the app with one star your comments get put away from easy public viewing. No doubt people will have to give high stars and tell their account that way. Perhaps when these accounts are up there, viewable to the public, people can see what happens once they have paid their money and make their choice. I know quite a few people who share this view and would have purchased differently with this knowledge.

I've been late for work all week, thanks to the new dashboard, I use it for my alarm, and it hasn't worked all week...

I would highly recommend going back to the previous dashboard version.  Do not like the new one at all; do not like the layout, cannot reorganize anything I want, cannot swipe the days but have to press an arrow now and that only scrolls through the top tiles...can no longer swipe the entire days activities.  Prefer the flexibility of the old dashboard and the graph style progress bars.  It is more complicated then the previous version and finding what you want require too many keystrokes.

In short, it's not an upgrade, its a downgrade.

I expect a motherhood statement now about how...all your comments are passed onto out "team", and emphasis the value of our feedback.  This is code for "you will be ignored".

Cheers

You need to delete 2.48 before you install 2.47

2.47 will default to the new dashboard, but if you go into advanced settings you can reset it to the old format.

I was just asking for the old dashboard because it displayed steps in 5
minute splits. This was very useful for day to day run tracking and
fitness improvement. Otherwise it is just another step counter.
The other feature was having the daily steps right up on the top "steps"
panel.

Thanks

@ErickFitbit hmm No specific details?? guess you missed my reports with the 10 points that @AlessFitbit read and commented on and the points that I mentioned to @SunsetRunner - I seriously think instead of repeating "it doesn't sound like there are any plans to revert access to the old Dashboard." that it should be more like ''until the problems outlined we will re-instate the old dashboard until a compromise can be met.'' remember the Android team did not make fitbit the success it was - it was us the customer - this remark although probably unintended sounds like "yeah we heard you so what" which will provoke a negative attitude within some people

also with statements like Market research you have to be very careful as I could claim to have conducted market research on this subject, I have different ages groups, genders, abilities in mine and there is a 99% discontent on the New dashboard out of around 300 persons - no I didn't go out and about nor did I go to a school just look at the comments on here which you have acknowledged that there is disappointment and many a suggestion of either revert back or a compromise that customers would like, surely it is Obvious that the new dashboard wasn't as much of a hit as expected, as we all bought fitbits and not apple watches ,we don't want apple style dashboards - its not about the change its about the reduction in function, I will also revert to a Telegraph statement from your CEO that Apple dashboard was confusing (April 2016) well congratulations you have achieved just that (you can use that to your point 1 general disappointment ie not user friendly)..now don't get me wrong the hardware is great the software needs to be adjusted big time as I mentioned it is useless for those less abled than the majority market where steps and floors may be an insult the old dashboard took all that into account

You've missed out the date missing from current day and previous day - 'yesterday' and 'today' with no DATE showing is useless
Thanks

  • Progress circles don't change color as you get closer to the goal, as the bars do on the old dashboard.
  • New Dashboard only shows current value (e.g., steps, floors), but not the goal (e.g., 10,000 steps, 15 floors) as the old dashboard does.
  • Related to above, the new dashboard gives no indication that you've exceeded your goal.

Us complainers wouldn't complain if the darn thing worked, now would we? For me I did lose weight with this, but I also use as a alarm. The new dashboard you have to set every night, if you get up different times. The old way you could set for a week. Yes they replaced mine twice, no problems there. But seeing they usually last for a year. I plan on invested my money elsewhere

I often exceed my set goals, so I miss seeing my current numbers, not just whether I have met my goal. For examples, on a hot day that I  am being active outside, I need considerably more water than my stated goal, being able to easily see my total consumption is very helpful, and when I  have exceeded my step goal, seeing total steps is a great encouragement and morale booster.

Only thing I'd add to the 5/22 update of the original message is that it is suddenly, for no apparent reason, adding in tiles to my screen.

I use my fitbit to track steps, sleep and calories; it keeps inserting the "buzz to tell you that it hasn't noticed you moving enough" this hour feature.

do not want that.  I don't need to be "reminded" that I've been sitting in one place, focusing like crazy, for the last hour.  Trust me, I notice.

I just tried to download the fitbit 2.47 apk and it downloaded just fine but when I opened the fitbit app it was the new format even though the version stated it was the 2.47 apk version. Apparently fitbit has removed and locked the backdoor. I'm selling my blaze and uninstalled the app from my phone and will not be using any of my fitbits. They are junk to me now.

Did you delete the 2.48 version before installing the 2.47?
