Fitbit Update 06/7/17: Thanks everyone for your feedback on the new Android dashboard. We have relayed this information to our Android team. This thread will now be closed, as the Android team has no plans to revert back to the old dashboard. We're always working towards making improvements to the app and appreciate your cooperation on future app updates.

Fitbit Update 05/22/2017: Hi everyone -- I've read through every post in this thread and the major feedback points and concerns can be summarized as the following:

  • General disappointment with the change (no specific details provided)
  • Lots of empty space/more scrolling/clicks required
  • Bottom tiles don't scroll data with days
  • Unable to fully customize top section with tiles from the bottom section
  • Prefer linear UX design
  • Difficult to read/no dark theme available
  • Can't swipe between days, only able to click to scroll through days
  • Can't to resize tiles

Please let me know if there's something specific that is not on this list. I have relayed this information to our Android team and at this time, it doesn't sound like there are any plans to revert access to the old Dashboard.

I know that any change is going to be a little jarring, but please remember to keep your posts respectful and on-topic, per our Community Guidelines. This thread will be better for everyone as a constructive conversation.

Fitbit Update 04/24/2017: Hi everyone -- Beginning with the release of the Android app version 2.48, the new Fitbit app Dashboard with the updated look will be fully implemented. Users will no longer have the option to switch to the old Dashboard design, so I encourage you to check it out if not already using it.

We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services and we appreciate all of the feedback we receive from our customers. We currently do not have any plans to revert this change; you can find more information about the app and how to start using it by clicking here.

Go into advanced settings (in 2.47) and you can change it to the old view.

@BobM2 The point is- if you really want the linear format, you can get it back the way it used to be.  If you're concerned with losing out on improved features then by all means update to the latest and supposedly greatest child like tile version.

Maybe Fitbit will bring back the choice if enough people complain. We can only hope, but for the time being we still have a choice.  I thought I made that clear in my previous post.

I know we all loved the old dashboard, but rather than continuing to beat my head against the wall, I am looking at other compatible apps. There are lots of them out there, some focused more on exercise and some more for food tracking. So far I have not found a good mix like the old dashboard, but I love my tracker and don't intend to give it up. Any tracker you move to could change their app just like Fitbit has done after you make the purchase.

If if anyone tries a new app that they like, please pass it along. Thanks!

FitBit is unresponsive to customers like us. All they care about now is the stock price.

I was pointed to this article. The company is shipping far fewer units and losing market share. BUT DO NOT jump to any conclusions here. As I see it, the wearable market is slowing down overall, and their market share is being lost to new companies in the market. I don't think that the share erosion is directly related to customer complaints or product quality.

Please reconsider it to give us back the old dashboard.  Please!!!

I absolutely do not like the new dashboard at all - it is not as user friendly to see the information I want to see (trends) at a glance like the old one.  Also, the Calories in does not work if you flip back to previous days - you actually have to go into the icon to see your calories you had yesterday.  Just not happy with this change - thanks for listening!!

They never have admitted to doing anything wrong with either hardware or software. There answer is always you're just a bunch of whiners. They'll never bring back the old dashboard. Go back to 2.47 like most are. There are so many faults with this new dashboard that even if they wanted to (and they don't) it would be 2020 before it works correctly. By then they will be an Edsel and we all will have trackers from other manufacturers that work properly.

I've been doing a lot of research and the fitbug/kin wellness dashboard is good - it's very similar to the old fitbit one

Really disappointed in the new dashboard. I do not like the limited feedback it gives, I liked the lines of the old dashboard because it showed current numbers vs goal numbers. The tiles are too simplistic and cartoonish, how old do you think the users are? Also don't like when I look at previous days it shows current day stats, I'm trying to look at previous day totals that is what should show.  Why would you force through something that is so universally disliked?

Why would you force through something so universally didliked. The new dashboard does not give enough information, especially for previous days.

This is horrible news! The new dashboard is clumsy. There is no quick access to the sync function. I have my fitbit set to sync all day, but I occasionally like to do it myself. I can't find my way around the new dashboard. I do not want an app that I need a training video to use. Please bring back the option of the old dashboard and quit doing updates that make me restart my phone. Simple is better. I am really disappointed. I am not sure I will continue to use my fitbit if it is going to be this difficult. There is an app on my phone to count steps. Maybe I will switch to that.

@LaurieAZ Hi , to force sync on the new dashboard pull down from the top, although I agree this is not their best move, they need to either revert back to the old or give US the choice to use either one. Fitbit seem to have a habit of releasing update before seeing that they work properly and totally ignoring the beta testers reviews, they are definitely making their APP look like the APPLE  APP which J Park said looked so confusing in an media interview last April, I have made several comments further down this post and even added suggestions which may be a sort of compromise to the new dashboard, but no-one at Fitbit has listened, it is also strange that the Moderator posted 3 weeks ago had has not been seen since, they should be feeding information both ways in my opinion not just tell us how it is (WE ARE PAYING FOR THEIR PRODUCT)  so we should have an input and the 300+ comments on hear should be taken into consideration.

No, it does not sync correctly by pulling down from the top. I have to go into each tile SEPARATELY and attempt to add food, or start exercising or look at weekly stats THEN go back to the dashboard and hope it worked.Sometimes even then it doesn't and I give up.....only to find later that it synced.AND I really am annoyed that I can't see yesterday's stats after midnight.I usually go to sleep after that so when I check on my day it's already tomorrow and if I go back to yesterday the calorie budget tile is zero.!?*!
I want to see my current weight at first glance.I want the amount of calories left in my budget to be the same on the dashboard as it is if you click the tile.....it never is.  One says in the zone and one says either under or over budget.

@Michele15213 Have you tried to revert back to old dashboard Fitbit 2.47, ok its not tiles but there is proper information, how to revert was posted by various users within this post, I must admit I don't like the NEW dashboard which is a backwards step IMO I tried it regularly over the last few months and noticed that NONE of the improvements that people had requested had been implemented so reverted back to the old, FITBIT are not even interested in meeting there customers half way - and by the looks of it are moving towards APPLE with pictorials instead of data that they used to provide - ok on the upside the new sleep stages is good - but - there is always a but,  needs to include naps and sleep of less than 3 hours and a whole percentage of sleep quality

For everyone who hates version 2.48:

Uninstall the Fitbit app

Go to one of the many websites out there that keep a library of app versions (APKmirror.com, for example) to download and side-install version 2.47

Log in to Fitbit app and switch to old dashboard via Advanced Settings

Turn off automatic updates to Fitbit app in Google Play

So upset I updated the app - hate the new dashboard and now can't go back. Please just give us the option - surely it doesn't make any difference to yourselves which dashboard we use.

If I don't have choice in having the new dashboard, instead of the old one, please advise how I can remove the  'tiles' I don't want to see.

Thanks.

@BL99 if you look back through the posts there are ways of reverting to Fitbit 2.47 , as for removing tiles I think if you tap the plus sign on android it will go to edit mode (on iPhone edit is in top right of screen I believe

and you can remove or re-add tiles should you wish to stay on the new dash

To Fitbit,

This new dashboard is, quite simply, unacceptable. It is hopeless to read quickly at a glance, it fails to synchronise properly and is far too slow to synchronise. Some data synchronises whilst other doesn't. The top level updates but detailed level is absent for example, need to re-synch several times.

It is not fit for purpose. You have received a huge amount of negative feedback, please listen to your customers and resolve this quickly by allowing us to revert to the old dashboard. I believe otherwise we won't be customers for long!

Very very disappointed

The impression being given by the company is that they care not a wit what customers find the most useful, aesthetically pleasing and able to quickly get information from. The clear answer here is to direct any further purchasing decisions to alternate fitness tracker brands, don't gift the item or talk about them on mediums other than here.

It's not like people haven't taken time out of their lives to examine, provide feedback and make suggestions which can be implemented to improve the UX. The message we're receiving is quite clearly "that's nice, but no".
