Not receiving text notifications

I have a 3 yr old alta connecting to a galaxy s8 and I haven't received text notifications for the past month. 

I continue to receive all other notifications including calls, but no texts. 

I tried resetting the alta (pressing the button 3 times in 8 seconds until the logo shows) and made sure my app was updated. This has happened before but self corrected once the app updated, but they pushed an update this week and I'm still without texts. 

Any suggestions?

I appreciate the details that were shared in your post, thanks for troubleshooting this situation prior to posting. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Alta are correctly configured.

 

After verifying the above, please try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.

I've worked through all of the troubleshooting steps and no luck. 

I continue to receive call notifications but no texts. Is this a known problem and I should just wait it out for an update?

The only thing that I haven't done is change my messaging app. Is support for Hangouts being discontinued?

Let me guess...   Android 10 update? I've got the same issue and I'm reading it all over the forums on different Android devices.

Someone on a different forum posted about rolling back to version 2.9 of the app. I did and it seems to be working, we'll see how long it lasts.

I have up and installed the For Notifications app on both my wife's Pixel 3 and my Pixel 3XL. It's restored SMS notifications perfectly. Hate having another app but I have to admit it's working well.
