I'm not sure who can see what messages we've posted, but we kinda have a couple of backwards workarounds.  None of them are easy or ideal or even close.  Let me know if you were able to see the replies we've added to consider.  They were "Google Messages" and "Fit Notifications".  It seems to work to AT LEAST let us know that we have a message on our phones.  It's ridiculous...I know.🙃

Best Answer

Agreed!  It's not a new issue, from what I have researched.  For all of us, who have looked...we have done EVERYTHING they have suggested plus some additional steps.  My phone is nearly recognizable at this point.  I have deleted apps I use.  We all use the feature for MANY different and important things...kiddos, elderly parents, work, etc.  It's important!

Same issue for me!  I think my notifications quit on12/30.  I have an S10+.  Messenger messages come through but nothing else- no text or app alerts.

Best Answer

I switched over to Message+ from just Messages and currently I am able to get text messages but this is extremely frustrating. I checked every setting under the sun but with this latest update-can't use the app I want to use.

Very frustrating, indeed. I hope Fitbit developers are aware and working on the compatibility issue, and are not just throwing their hands up in the air that this is Samsung's problem.

Also, this morning I found my text notifications were not working again, even using Google Messages. I noticed my Fitbit had not synced in a few hours, and when I went to sync it, received an error. I restarted both my fitbit ionic and my phone, and this cleared it up.

sue_sd,

Did you ever get a response?  I was in a chat yesterday concerning this issue with my Versa 2 and Samsung s10e software update. I got nowhere other then they know there's an issue.

FITBIT!  What is being done to fix this?  You're losing current and future customers. Step up and do the right thing, Your lack of communication is not serving your company well.

Best Answer

Nope. The only response I ever got was an acknowledgement that there was an issue. No acknowledgement that they would escalate bit, resolve it, nothing. And the ackn was from support, not dev. So a massive disconnect.

I don't know if they plan to fix this issue or not.

I don't know if Google will fix it. I was waiting for Google to announce their watch at their annual event this year and then...

Hi @BriSal333, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the details that were shared in your post, your effort and patience troubleshooting your device prior to posting are appreciated. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if you experienced this notifications issue after updating to Android 10? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Charge 2 are correctly configured.

After verifying the above, please try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted.

I am using Note 10 plus on Sprint, with Android 10.

I can get phone calls, google assistant messages, but that is about it.

The phone is hard to turn back too, I think my left button is stuck 😞

I tried google messages, but it did not work, not a huge fan of it.

They said I changed a lot. I said a lot changed me.

I am also having exactly the same issue as all of you, and have tried everything possible, using a different messaging app didn't work for me unfortunately. I'm on Samsung Galaxy S10, recently updated to Android 10.

With how many of us that are having this problem, you would think that more would be getting done about it. As surely it could be risking a lot of custom for Fitbit?

I also had a conversation with Fitbit, and after about half an hour or so, I still didn't get any answers.

Come on Fitbit, at least give us a proper update please?!

I did not start having these problems after updating to Android 10. I updated to Android 10 months and months before receiving my fitbit. I was able to receive all notifications when I received my fitbit just three weeks ago and then it began to fail.

I would also like to notify you that I do not have a charge 2 but an Ispire HR, I'm not sure if that makes a difference but just a side note.

I have done all the troubleshooting steps and still have received nothing. I went ahead and returned the Fitbit and got a samsung smartwatch with fitness features and that has been working wonders for me.

But if anyone can tell me if they have had similar issues I would appreciate it.

I have an android Samsung Note 10+. Mine was working great when I first got this Fitbit and now I can get all of my notifications except my messages. I have tried everything you listed multiple times a day for almost a week but to no avail.

Please help me get this fix or I'm sending this Versa2 back and being done with Fitbit all together because without the message feature it is just a regular tracker to me!!!

Thank you

I don't get it!  Are they that stumped?

Here's what doesn't make sense, I have my multimedia messages, (texts) notify me when they are delivered, these notifications appear on my fitbit.   Am I missing something, that is coming from my default text message app?

I received the Versa 2 for Christmas and I am having the exact same problem. Was working fine, then simply stopped receiving text messages. However all other notifications come through. I attempted all the steps to fix just as you did....and nothing.

Does anybody know how to fix this???

I'm having the exact same issues with my versa 2. Just received it for Christmas. Everything was working fine until a few days ago, I stopped receiving text notifications. Of course all other notifications work just fine. Also did all the same steps to troubleshoot it. No difference.

Would love a solution!

Same issues here with my Versa and my Samsung Galaxy S10. All was good and then suddenly no text messages on the device. I still can receive calls, emails, and Messenger notifications. I have done every single troubleshooting, even deleted the Fitbit app and reinstalled then re-synced my device. Haven't done a Samsung or Fitbit update and says everything is "up to date"

I have a versa and I also just stopped receiving text messages, everything else works great even other types of messaging.  I have had my versa a year and just recently this happened.  I have a S10+.  I did call Fitbit help and they walked me through all steps of different things to try.  Then ended up saying they were aware of the issue although it mostly effected iPhones and some Androids.  I was told they are working on it and don't have an end date for the fix but to do any updates as they come out.  On a side note I know 4 other people who have the versa and theirs are all working fine. They are also on Android although different models.

The funny thing is my mom has the exact same model of phone and Versa and she is receiving messages just fine. In another post somebody said they downloaded Google Messages and it worked so that's what I've done.

I have also been having this problem just over a week now. Was working perfectly until then. I have a versa 2 and the s10 plus. I read on one of these forums that it is an app issue that they are aware of and are working on it. I set Facebook messenger as my default texting app and am now receiving them.

Same here. All was well with my new Versa Lite on mg Galaxy 10 until the last week or so. I have it set up to notify me of texts (Messages), other messages (Messenger), phone calls, and calendar events (Google Calendar). While all setups originally worked fine for about a month, Messenger is now the only one that works every time, calendar and calendar reminders work sporadically, and text messages not at all.

What I have tried:
- Checking to make sure all notification options are enabled
- Turning bluetooth on and off
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app
- Restarting Fitbit device

Considering how many people are reporting the same issue, I have to believe the issue is with the app, but am willing to try any possible fixes.
