To set up notifications to my smart watch for apps and texts and calls it says my phone needs a restart, but no matter how many times I restart my phone, or disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth nothing changes. It just keeps saying notifications are not working you need a restart.... They worked fine on my Huawei p20 pro, and now I upgraded to the p30 pro and I have this issue...

I got continuously notification problems when using my new versa 2. It pops up with the remind of 'notification service not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notification on your tracker'. However, restart the mobile doesn't work at all. I tried to clear the data and cache in the Fitbit App setting and it worked. But the same problem came again next morning. And in the same day, my Fitbit App closed down at once when I opened it. I have no choice but to re-install the app again. It works by doing so however, the same problems happen again and again. I checked my Fitbit App and found it is not up-to-data version (3.11). However, there is no update option in the setting. And the firmware version of versa 2 is 35.68.915, seems not the latest version either but I don't know how to update it. BTW, my mobile is Huawei P30 Pro and the system is latest version. It is so annoying to get the problems continuously and really hope to get help to fix them.

Hi @MarreFitbit, I am using app version 3.4.2 on an Android 5 phone and the same message has appeared. If I send the test message it gets through to my charge 2.

Has there been any success on resolving this issue? There has since been an update for the device but it didnt come with a solution to the notifications problem. I still can not get notification, and the app continues to tell me to restart my phone, with no fix.

system error on your site!!! Part of text missing, so I repeat it here:
Hi, I got fitbit versa 2 in may 2020 and it worked fine with my Soni Xperia Z3+ and Android 7. Now I changed my phone to Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro and Android 9, thus this problem came up. All updates required has been done without success on this subject.
If you want more details to evaluate the problem please let me know.

No solution yet? It's now 1/12/2021 and this is still affecting people. My phone is a Xaomi Mi A2 and Notification Service won't "run" no matter how many times I restart my phone.

So I've had to go into my phone's settings for the Fitbit App and disable all permissions and then re-enable all permissions and then restart my phone to get this working. Hope this helps.

I was hoping that with Google becoming a partner to Fitbit that this will actually get resolved. I bought the Charge 3 a while back and only had notifications working for a short time. I'm not going to update my Fitbit device again until this issue gets resolved for Android users.
