I went for my first bike ride with the Versa watch. It automatically connected with my Samsung Galaxy for GPS, which was great! But now that I am finished my ride, my phone notifications still show under Fitbit "Connected GPS is running." I ended my exercise on the Versa and have my workout summary, but I can't figure out how to stop the connected GPS feature.

Hey @Mossyoak,
I just resorted to turning my notifications off in the end, then had to remember to manually sync my fitbit every night before going to bed.
My phone upgrade was due yesterday and so far on my new phone (Samsung S9) I've not had the same issue. Fingers crossed it stays that way - hope you find a resolution! It's a shame the Charge 3 has so many issues 😞

I'm having the same issue with my Charge 3 - I use a Motorola G5s Plus.
I have already rebooted my phone, while at my desk, did all the tun off/on the gps procedure and I'm still getting the "Connected GPS is running" message on my phone.
This has happened before and has gone away on its own but now it has been like that for over 4h.
Is there any update on this issue?

I have managed to remove the message by toggling location off and on again under app permissions for the Fitbit app. Just turning off general location for the phone via quick settings did not work.
Using a Google Pixel on android 9.

I apologize for the delay in my response.
@EmmaWFC Glad to read that it seems to be working correctly with your new phone! Hopefully it continues to work without any hiccups.
@Mossyoak I'd like to ask what phone is it that you are using at the time? Lets try to restart your Fitbit and your phone too.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

I'm having the exact same issue. Went for a walk yesterday and ever since had the Connected the GPS notification on my phone.
I have a charge 3 and a Huawei P20. My fitbit does synch but all of a sudden has started draining my phone battery. My battery normally lasts 2 days and I have had to recharge already from this morning!
Please help!!!

I got in contact with Fibit support and they recommended the following:
Depending on your phone the steps might of course vary.
Worked for me. Have not had any issue since the 31st of January and my battery is lasting as long as it should again.

This just showed up for me today. Google pixel 2 XL. Minimize, just makes it smaller. I reset phone, reset Bluetooth. Tried turning off mobile run GPS notification. It's still there. I can't turn off location services. I use it for other things. Touch & hold notification, I was able to minimize it, but it still shows in the pulldown. as far as I'm aware, nothing has changed that made this show up. Help!

Fitbit Update: 3/3/19
Hi everyone!
I've merged a few threads and also moved this conversation to the Android board since this bug is happening on Android only. Thanks for all your reports of seeing this persistent notification after completing a Connected GPS activity. Our developers are aware of this ongoing bug and we hope to have a fix for you soon.
In the meantime, please try a restart on your mobile device to clear the notification.
Thanks for all your help and cooperation!

This happened to me first time today on the Charge 3. After running for the bus "connected gps is running" started showing and even a reboot didn't clear it, it just pops back up.
It's drained my battery within just a couple of hours and really needs to be fixed.

Dear Fitbit moderators,
The problem is not the notifications, but the fact that the Fitbit app is using location services and draining the battery. Turning off notifications does not solve the problem!

Did anyone find a solution to this?
Mine was fine up until yesterday, ever since I have received a persistent messaging stating GPS is running and the fitbit app took 60% of my battery yesterday 😞
Tried deleting cache, turning phone on/off. Only success I've had is by turning the GPS off manually. I've turned off always connected and keep widget alive without any luck too?

My workaround was to revoke the Location services permission for the Fitbit app.
The only thing is that I cannot use the Connected GPS feature.
