I recently purchased an LG Stylo2. It runs 6.0.1 system. Why is my "newer" phone not supported?!?

Since your phone is new it's still not supported. Let me inform you that the Fitbit team is currently working to add more devices for syncing, in the mean time thanks for your patience. You can check this link often and you will see the new supported devices.
