Phones compatible with alta- Samsung Galaxy J3/5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just got confirmation that my broken charge is going to be replaced with an Alta. The alta is not compatible with my current phone, but I was planning on getting a new phone anyway.

So does anyone know of the samsung galaxy J 3 or J5 can sync with the alta? I don't really care if text notifications work with it or not, as long as I can sync stuff like steps to the app

Welcome to the Community @Adie98! Sounds pretty cool that you will receive an Alta as a replacement, it is a very cool Fitbit and I love it! Heart Ok now, the Samsung Galaxy J3 or J5 is not on the compatible devices list, however, if you get one of those models, you can try to set it up/sync with any of them and it might work,  I can't guarantee it. On that list you can also see the official compatible phones and the features you can use with the trackers and the devices.

Let me know if you have more questions!

Samsung Galaxy J is on the compatible list - does this include the J3 or J5, I'm so annoyed at how many phones are not compatible - had to return my mother's day present of fitbit alta hr today as it wasn't compatible with my Windows phone, and now struggling to find phones that are compatible 😞

Hi @walkingloose, welcome to the Forums! 🙂 Only the Samsung Galaxy J is a compatible device. The Galaxy J3 and J5 are not on that list. They are still not compatible. I totally understand how you feel about this, and sounds pretty sad that you have had to return the Alta HR you just bought due to the lack of compatibility with your phone. If you are interested in getting another Fitbit, but as your phone isn't compatible, you could use a computer in order to setup and sync your tracker. 😉

It is very annoying that so many devices are not compatible with Alta. Surely if other Samsung phones are compatible the J3 should be! Are there plans to make it so? The annoying thing is that for a while it will sync but then for days on end it won't! So frustrating!! Needs sorting out!

Welcome to the Forums @GaucheSmiley Very Happy Our team still working in order to enlarge the compatible devices list and add more phone models, so many other users will be able to sync their trackers. So I will ask you to be patient while our team complete it.

Got a new fitbit alta last week. Found out not compatable with my new phone Samsung J 3 2017. Also won't pair with my nexus 7 2013 version. Spent a lot if time on this forum looking for clues on what to do. Fitbit charge paired with nexus ok. Was so looking forward to using Alta but experience  has been bad regarding compatibility issues. Come on fitbit please add samsung js

It's a real pain. My J3 does sync eventually but it's very hit and miss. Same with my Huawei tablet.  Time they sorted it!

Hey @Lewis123456, I hope you are doin' great! I'm afraid my friend, that I don't know when the Samsung Galaxy J5 is gonna be released as full compatible. We have no received updates about it from our team. However, I can suggest you to follow the troubleshooting in this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?. I can't guarantee that they work but you can give it a try. 😉

Let me know how it goes!
