RESOLVED 02/28/17: New Dashboard is not updating stats after sync

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit Update 02/28/2017: As this issue was resolved with the release of the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.41 I will be closing this thread.

If you run into this issue in a new instance, please create a new post in the Android board and reference this thread. Thank you!

Fitbit Update 01/26/2017: We've just released the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.41 which includes a fix for the issue where the new Dashboard is not updating stats after sync.

Please update to the latest version of the app and let me know if the issue has been resolved for you. Looking forward to hearing your updates! Thanks for the continued patience.

Fitbit Update 11/21/2016: Some Android users who have opted-in to the new Android Dashboard redesign experience have reported that their Dashboard is not updating their steps and other stats after a successful sync.

Our Android team is aware of this issue with the preview and is currently investigating the root cause. In the meantime, I recommend logging into the Fitbit.com online Dashboard, completing a sync, and confirming that your step activity is updating in the activity log tab.

In addition, you can temporarily switch back to the old Dashboard to see instant updates. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the "Account Tab" in the new Dashboard design.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom and select the "Advanced Settings" option.
  3. Click on "Switch back to the Dashboard" button at the top.

I will be sharing status updates here, so keep an eye out for more news.

Since this thread has been hijacked about problems with syncing, and is no longer about the dashboard not updating, these posts are not getting addressed. If you are having problems with syncing your tracker, you will get more help solving the problems if posted to a thread with a meaniful title such as, "Charge 2 won't sync", or "Fitbit app won't connect with tracker", etc..

I have the Android v2.42 and struggle with syncing to my Charge 2 device. The bluetooth signal keeps flashing in a faded colour. Very seldom is will flash in a green colour. It is as if the phone and device are struggling to see each other. Any help please?

Hi. I have the Fitbit app on both my S7 and iPad Air and both have the same problem. When I log my food and water for today it changes all the other previous logging to the same amounts on the dashboard. When I drill into the data it shows the correct amount.

Also the dashboard icons werent filling up at all and stayed as if I haven't put any data in at all. (This appears to be working today 😳

Please help. I love my Fitbit and love the app so I'm gutted that it isn't working properly for me. Oh and I love the look of the dashboard and love that it's the same on my android and iOS 💖

Using Fitbit 2.42 Android German:
The Dashboards updates without any issues.

But I found a funny translation error at the "drink" tile. It says e.g. "300 ml left" and "left" is translated with "links", but should be "übrig". "links" is a direction (turn left / on the left side) and I was confused what the app wanted to tell me.

Hi,

I have a new phone as from Saterday 18th but my fitbit doesn't sync anymore (version 2.42, old dashboard, last update on Friday 17th). I've tried all the tips above but nothing seems to help... Can you please help?

So I have had the new dash board and everything was working till some time Sunday. Now it does not record my sleep, steps the hours I am actively. I have tried repairing it, switching wrist, even going back to the old dash board and it is still not working. Very frustrating since I have only had my Alta since October.

I have a new Blaze that I just got for Christmas and I have the fitbit app installed on my HTC One M9 phone. It's been working fine until my phone updated the fitbit app sometime this month to a new version from version 2.4.1 to 2.4.2 at which point I started getting error messages that said either "Can't find tracker", or "Sync error, please try again".  I followed the steps on the fitbit help pages for resetting the tracker, force stopping the app, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarting my phone, turning bluetooth on and off, etc. to no avail.  I couldn't even get the app to find the tracker after I reinstalled it.

I spent some time last night on live chat on this site to fix this and the person walked me through the same steps I performed on my own before.  This time the app found my tracker and synced. However, I no sooner closed the chat page when the app started giving me the same "Sync error, please try again" message and hasn't synced since that one time last night.

It doesn't seem to matter which dashboard I use - both give me the same error.  This also doesn't seem to be an issue with my phone because I can connect to other bluetooth devices (Jambox, car, etc) without issue, and it also doesn't seem like a tracker issue because it will sync without issue to my old HTC One phone running an older version of the fitbit app (2.21.4).

Is anyone else having this issue?  Is there any way to revert back to an older version of the app on my M9 so I can sync?  Thanks!!

@NicoleKelly21, I have the HTC One M9 running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and I have Fitbit app version 2.42 installed, using the new dashboard.  I have never had a problem with it syncing my trackers.

Try plugging into the charger and pressing the button on there 3 times count to 8 and you should see that you fit bit is restarting then unplug it. I did this and mine works

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback on this. The live chat folks helped me resolve
this yesterday though its unclear (to me) what the issue was. I had to go
into my bluetooth settings and unpair the Blaze from my phone - a step we
didn't do when we initially tried to resolve this. Then I had to "Setup a
Device" in the app as a new device. Once that was completed, I had to
force stop the app and log back in. Now everything is back to working as
normal. I don't know why it stopped syncing. All I can determine is that
it stopped syncing normally around the same time Google Play did a bunch of
updates to apps on my phone one of which was the fitbit app...but perhaps
some other app messed with my bluetooth pairings? Anyway, so far so good
this morning.

Again, thanks for the responses and feedback!

@NicoleKelly21, it is good to hear they got it working again.  Usually when the Fitibit app updates from the Play Store the only thing require to get it working again is to open the phone Settings, Apps, Fitbit and Clear Cache and Data, and then restart the phone. But, I am glad Fitbit Support was able to get you tracking again.
