Fitbit Update 06/15/18: This issue has been resolved with the release of the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.73. If you're still experiencing issues receiving notifications from the Message+ app, I recommend confirming that you're updated to the latest app release and following our notifications troubleshooting tips provided in this help article.
I am closing this thread as the issue has been resolved. If you begin to experience this issue again at a later time, please create another post in the Android Community Forum and reference this thread. Thank you for your continued patience as we worked to get this resolved.
Fitbit Update: 6/13/2018
New version 2.73 has been fully released to all our Android users and you should be able to update your Fitbit app. We have released a fix for Message+ and Signal App notifications.

Hi, everyone!
I noticed many of you reporting that you no longer receive your Message+ notifications to your Versa/Ionic after the Fitbit OS 2.1 update.
We've escalated this issue to our team for investigation. For the meantime, I recommend using the default texting app on your Android device or any other messaging apps.

Spent the morn8ngbwuth 2 different customer agents. Futbit has a problem. They know. No deadline yet for a repair. I think they you should tell us all instead of all these
Pretend steps to make it work. It will not work until the team fixes it.

I am now using Message instead of Messages +. I am receiving phone notifications without a problem I receive about every other text notifications. Any recommendations.

Message plus. Does not work with nessage. Fitbit has a problem with android v7. I was on with customer service twice. Until a new update is released this function will not work.. I was told there is no timeline but they are working on it.

Epic system fail. Until a an update is released. There is no timeline. I was told by customer service yesterday. I do not believe fitbit has told everyone on the sevice team this is a Problem. The second csr knew and said the company knew and it was being worked on..

Yet again Fitbit has broken the app. This is the second time this year & reading everyone's posts this is just a repeat of every other time Fitbit has broken the app.
Pretending that the standard fixes will work or that your users need to buy new devices is the best way to create x customers.

I have the FB Versa special edition and use a Samsung Galaxy S7edge. Since my purchase of the Versa I have been able to receive all notifications EXCEPT text messages. I tried switching to the Samsung Messages app as default texting app, however it didn't work for me...
Today remembering Verizon's Message+ app syncs across multiple devices I tried this:
went into the Verizon Message+ app, then into settings and disconnected all the devices (tablet and laptop) and as well as my cellphone. After this additional step of disconnecting ALL devices from the Verizon Message+ app, and setting my default texting app to the Samsung Messages app on BOTH my cell phone and in the Fitbit App, I now receive text messages on my Versa! I hope this works for you too!
I still prefer the multi device syncing feature of Verizon's Message+ app and hope Fitbit will resolve this issue. Fitbit acquired Pebble and I had no issues using my Pebble with Verizon's texting app.

Hi Aless, I would like to report a similar issue with Whisper System's Signal messnger app. I have it selected as my SMS app in Android system and the Fitbit app, but do not receive these notifications on the Versa. (Galaxy S7). Looking forward to seeing this resolved, thanks!

@NicholasConrad on page 6 in this thread, I posted a workaround that fixes the issues of the missing text notifications - it works with the Whispers APP, Huawei P10 (wich is an unsupported phone) and the Ionic watch. It might work with the Versa aswell.

I was getting calls and messenger messages, but no texts. Now that I have tried all the deleting , resetting and such I am getting NO notifications of any kind. Have an Android Samsung S7.
