Hey, everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience. We really appreciate your cooperation while we released the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. It has been fully released to everyone, so please go to the Google Play Store and download it as soon as you can!

Many of you that already updated have confirmed you see your real-time heart rate back in the Fitbit app and that your steps/calories are updating. I will leave this thread open in case anyone has any issues, but I hope you are all set after updating. Thanks for all your help!

Fitbit Update 8/16/18:

Hi everyone - The fix for this issue will be out in our next app release which you can expect within the next 2 weeks.

We will provide an update in this thread once it has been released. Thanks again for all your patience and cooperation.

Fitbit Update 8/9/18: Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to report this issue here on the Android forum. I've passed your reports along to our engineering team so they can begin investigating. From what I've gathered, this issue is app specific and not affecting the Fitbit web dashboard (which is correctly showing all activity data as expected). To keep thing organized, I've merged several threads to this one.

Question for you meresydotes: is your phone a Google Pixel (any model)?

It seems that the new version of Android 'Pie' aka Android 9 is not playing nice with the fitbit app for Android (yes, the newest version of the fitbit for Android app).

I have a new pixel I'm getting ready to set up.....but I've been waiting to see when (or if) fitbit can produce an app that actually works correctly again without all the major issues they've been having..... like costing people large amounts of money for huge data consumption..... major battery drain on phones....basically things that are completely unacceptable to me.

So I've been using my current phone running version 2.63 of the Fitbit app (and working flawlessly), and think I'm going to set up the new pixel but not install any fitbit app on it, and just use the old phone to sync my surge to on my home wifi, I only sync once a day manually at night, and I don't use any notifications and have everything shut off so my surge only syncs manually.

The only drawback is I wanted to factory reset my old phone (it's developed a few glitches) and keep using it occasionally, but if I do that I'll lose my current app version and be in the s**t stew with everyone else 😞

I don't want to download my current app version off an app mirror site, I know very well how they work, I wouldn't install an app off a mirror site on to any device that has sensitive information on it....and of course fitbit doesn't offer any app downloads except the latest mess. Bad Move fitbit. See what positions you put people in wanting to use your devices? How long do you think folks will stick with you? You guys REALLY NEED TO LEARN HOW TO MAKE A WORKING APP!!!!!!!! And offer older apps to download when your new apps fall on their face, so people don't have to take their chances with app mirror sites.......it's ridiculous!!!!!!!

I'm about done with this whole goat-rope.....

Heart rate not showing in the app after the update. Is this one of the "bug fixes" ?

Mine too

What has happened to it??

Update : reverted to 2.75, everything is fine. Good time to disable the auto-update, it seems that fitbit is not testing the updates prior releasing them.

No but a workaround is to downgrad to the previous version if you are comfortable with installing apks outside of the Play store.

Hello!

When I look at the dashboard on my phone on the main screen the steps are showing zero. When I click on the steps, the next screen shows zero for today.  But, then if I click today, it has the actual amount of steps.

Any help on why it's not showing on the first 2 screens? I did delete and re-install the app on my phone. It corrected it yesterday when it first happened.  And now today I'm back in the same situation.

Thanks!

Having exact same issue... following.

It's not a terrible problem - mostly just a display issue. What does seem to be a problem is that it's suddenly interfering with other bluetooth connections. I have a cordless phone that links to my cell. I've NEVER had connection problems with it. The last couple of days, whenever I leave my house, it doesn't reconnect automatically when I come back.

Since the fit it app was updated yesterday my steps won't sync to the app on my phone and my exercise won't register. I've uninstall Ed and reinstalled with no success. Any ideas to resolve this would be great. Thanks

I  am also experiencing a lack a step tracking and calories are now 0 as well. Mine is still tracking miles and as of last night exercise minutes(tho I've spent the last half-hour working to get my Flex2 tracking again and not at the gym where I normally am) too.

I have rest my Flex2 three times, restarted my phone, and verified that the app updated last night.

I'm having this problem with my ionic all day sync is on but still heart rate won't show in real time on the app. Everything else syncs fine I have done factory reset  I have switched Bluetooth on and off and I am completely fed up, this is already a replacement as my first ionic wasn't counting steps accurately. Seems I've wasted alot of money!!

I am having the exact same problem and I am 100% sure that it started immediately after the most recent update. I ran the update first thing this morning and it has been happening exactly since that point:

the steps are not showing on the phone app real time, only when I manually synch. Each subsequent sync shows the steps going back to zero temporarily and then shows the step count at the point of syncing but does not show subsequent steps real time. I made sure that my settings hadn't been reverted by the update ("AllDay Sync-on, Always Connected -on, keep-alive widget-on), but still having the same problem, even after rebooting my phone.
