Fitbit Update 08/24/2018: As we've received multiple confirmations of this issue being resolved with the update to the Fitbit app, version 2.77, I will be closing this thread.

Hey, everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience. We really appreciate your cooperation while we released the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. It has been fully released to everyone, so please go to the Google Play Store and download it as soon as you can!

Many of you that already updated have confirmed you see your real-time heart rate back in the Fitbit app and that your steps/calories are updating. I will leave this thread open in case anyone has any issues, but I hope you are all set after updating. Thanks for all your help!

Fitbit Update: 8/21/18

Hi, Everybody!

Today, we started releasing the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. Please check the Google Play store on your phone to see if the update is available to you. We roll out Android updates progressively, so if you don't see it available to you right now it will be there soon.

Fitbit Update 8/16/18:

Hi everyone - The fix for this issue will be out in our next app release which you can expect within the next 2 weeks.

We will provide an update in this thread once it has been released. Thanks again for all your patience and cooperation.

Fitbit Update 8/13/18:

We’re aware of the issue and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible. We're sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

In the meantime, please continue to view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com. Thanks for your understanding.

Fitbit Update 8/11/18Hey, everyone! Thanks for confirming that you are still experiencing this issue even now with the Fitbit app 2.76.1. Rest assured, we have escalated this issue to our team for investigation.

Fitbit Update 8/9/18: Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to report this issue here on the Android forum. I've passed your reports along to our engineering team so they can begin investigating. From what I've gathered, this issue is app specific and not affecting the Fitbit web dashboard (which is correctly showing all activity data as expected). To keep thing organized, I've merged several threads to this one.

I appreciate your patience and am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. In the meantime, I welcome you to continue sharing your experiences here. In the meantime, you can view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com

When I hear something new, I'll be sure to update the thread with the latest info. Robot Happy

I cannot click on to the tile to see the steps because the Fitbit will not sync St all since the new update on my Pixel 2. I have a zip. Always worked fine before. I hope your app update is going to resolve the sync problem!!

@GR49503

Hey, folks!

As previously mentioned the fix for this issue will be out in our next Android app release which you can expect within the next 2 weeks. This could mean anytime within the next 2 weeks it will release, not necessarily the full 2 weeks from now. We wanted to provide an accurate range, so its possible the next app release will be out much sooner than that.

Remember in the meantime, clicking into the tiles will display the stats you want to see. Please stay tuned for more updates!

No, I cannot see my steps by clicking on the tile because the zip will not sync since the lastest adroid update on my Pixel 2. Tons of people have posted about this so how about addressing when the sync problem will be fixed!

So, what you are saying is that you (Fitbit) broke the Android application a bit over 2 weeks ago, and it will take another 2 weeks to release the fix? So there is a 4 week window during which any new purchaser of a Fitbit who uses an Android based smartphone, will be: a) getting a KNOWN defective product and b) will think that their Fitbit is a piece of cow dung. Nothing about this in the business press, so you are deceiving your investors, too. This reads like no one with any business smarts is involved in this decision.

You need to: a) withdraw the update for Android users and b) provide a way of reverting to the previous version.

Yes we get that bit you ate not addressing the issue for Apple users either I have posted on the android and iOS forums

so please stop giving us the runaroundvand put a statement  to the public as well - you will have lots os lost business even Apple admit when there is a problem

So. If Fitbit wasn't already in huge financial trouble, they are now. Think
about it; every single device sold for the past month is inoperable and
being returned as I write this. And apparently all the devices sold for the
next 2 weeks (their bogus fix date) will be defective/returned, as well.

Oh my. Oh well.

It may display old stats but still doesn't show real time Heart Rate, which is what I got it for . I'm very disappointed and even more disappointed in the attitude of the company

You watch does show real time heart rate @Baby2thDr

Currently the app is having troubled showing real time data.

As other people have said, and I have also mentioned previously, clicking on the tile dies not show the current data values. It appears that my app only shows data for previous days. But not the current day.

Best Answer

If your only seeing data for the previous days, this would mean that the tracker has not synced today. If this line shows zeroIf this line shows zero

Sorry Rich, but that's not the case. My Fitbit is showing that is syncing as it should. It's just not pulling the information through to my app.

I can see the steps for yesterday now, which was showing as 0 all day yesterday. But none if today's steps are showing yet. Unless I click through the tile and then click again on the day. See the attached screenshots.Home screen showing no data for current day.Home screen showing no data for current day.

Will the update fix the fitbit app not syncing at all?  When I go to my app (Android) it shows the last sync was 08/08.  I have gone into the app and l cleared the cache, restarted my bluetooth, uninstalled and then reinstalled the app and it still won't sync.

I did provide a possible solution some pages before and since then i have no issues.

Install any version before 2.75.

I find 2.74.2 to be the best verison in regards to stability and battery lifetime on phone!

My app on my iPhone is not syncing my exercise. Tile shows only O and is not giving all the usual statistics.  Is a fix on the way for iPhone?

@Pesky @Glendah

I'm sorry but you are in the wrong forum. This topic is about the Android App not the iPhone App.

For iPhone support you need to go here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/iOS-App/bd-p/ios

I'm also not aware that you can manually install former versions of any app on iPhone as the devices are more restricted than Androids.

I know that but when you click on the iOS forum I get connected to this forum and besides at least you guys answer not like Fitbit themselves
