Will this phone be compatible with the Charge HR in the future and what is the issue at the moment?

@Sshishin The Samsung A3 is not listed as a supported device, which explains why you're experiencing issues with setting it up and syncing it with your Alta.

In the meantime while our Android team works to add more devices to our supported devices list, I recommend using the USB wireless sync dongle to sync your Alta with a computer or a different supported mobile device.

Hi
I've the above phone and it would be great if it would sync with my Charge HR. Any idea when this may be considered?

Welcome to the Fitbit Forums @EIlishHThe Samsung Galaxy A3 is not currently listed as a supported device. I recommend following the steps that @ErickFitbit suggested here. It may work since it runs Android +4.4.2 and Bluetooth +4.0. However, it isn't guaranteed that all features will fully function with a device that is not listed as supported here.

I hope this clarify your inquiry.

We would love to see Samsung A5 & A3 in the list of supported devices.

It is really annoying that these phones work almost fine with everything but have problems syncing.

Hi,

My Samsung A3 2016 works with my old fitbit flex, but I'd like to get an Alta or Charge HR2. Has anyone tried these with this phone and do they work?

Hi! Yes, everything works! Had problems with set up, did it through lap top and already use it for about 4 month! Alta is super, take alta- will love that !

Thanks Sshishin, I'll consider that.

@ch20uk I have not personally ever tried that phone with the Fitbit app, but can confirm that it isn't listed as a supported device. As @Sshishin can attest, this does not mean it is not compatible, it just means that we have not tested it for compatibility and added it to our list yet. If your phone supports BLE (AKA Bluetooth 4.0) you can give using the app for setup a try! We are always working to test and add more Android devices to the supported devices list daily, so keep an eye open for updates!

Thank you.
The phone does has bluetooth v 4.1 and the app works with my flex. I
don't want to spend a lot of money on a new tracker unless I'm sure it
is going to work, so will wait until it appears in the supported devices
list.

Hey there, @ch20uk! It is nice to see you around. I agree with your decision. However keep in mind that you can always sync your tracker's information using a computer. It is true that using a mobile device for this is more comfortable. One thing that comes to my mind is that, you could go to one of our retailers and ask if you can try it out with your phone to check the compatibility. I can't guarantee that they will be able to do this, but you can try! 🙂

I hope this helps, let me know! Robot wink

Just to let you know I decided to take the risk and have bought a Charge HR to replace my flex as I wanted something that showed the time. I have only used it for a day but I can say that it does work with the Galaxy A3 (2016) :-). I had already got the app installed but when I used it the first time and added the new device there was no problem.

My Charge HR won't sync with my Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 version or my windows 10 tablet. They both see the 12th Nov and nothing after that. It keeps saying there is an error. I've restarted the tracker, tried to unpair on my phone but it doesn't work and my tablet Bluetooth can't even find it. Any suggestions
