I've un-paired and re-paired mine numerous times. Still doesn't work.

I received my Fitbit Ionic last year for Christmas and at the time had a Samsung Galaxy S8+ which worked perfectly together. Upgraded my phone to a S9+ couple months later and my ionic has basically become a fancy wrist watch that I'm tired of trying to fix. I have done EVERYTHING. How is this thread 'solved' when there are still so many that are having issues? I am currently shopping Samsung Gear because I am so frustrated with Fitbit now.

Flex, Alta, Blaze, Ionic, Versa, Versa 2, Sense

I have been back and forth with Fitbit support for over 6 months. They said they were handing me off to someone to work on my specific problem and that they would contact me. That was weeks ago and I haven't heard a peep out of this imaginary person. This is ridiculous. Bottom line is that they can't get the problems fixed and I now have an expensive pedometer. I have had good experiences with previous Fitbits and the Versa worked really well with my S7, but has NEVER worked with the S8. Not buying another Fitbit.

Hello everyone!

I'd like to apologize for the delay in my reply.

To the ones that have continued to experience issues with your S9, I'd like to ask you what Android version are you currently running?

Also please keep in mind that if a thread is marked as having a solution, it doesn't mean that it will not be paid attention to. The solutions are selected by other users.

Look forward to your reply.

Android version 8.0 on a Galaxy S9 with a Versa. Have tried every step you have suggested in this thread multiple times just like others that are ready to give up on fitbit. It has been 5 months since the "solution" and it's still not working, so obviously there are issues. What next?

I unpaired mine & reinstalled the app and my fitbit works fine.

More tests have been run… Per your request I have also attempted to connect it to my laptop and my husband’s Apple 8. So my Charge 3 that was working perfectly up until November 29 will no longer connect to Galaxy S7, Galaxy S9+, Apple 8 or laptop.
All of the above can see the Charge 3 but the connection times out.
Also the Charge 3 has recently changed its time zone AGAIN… so I can no longer even wear it as a watch.
I understand that you are having problems with Android. But I was not one of those people… It worked except for periodically changing time zones by itself.
Our phones are currently running
Android 8.0.0 on the Galaxy S9
Android 8.0.0 on the Galaxy S7
12.1 (16B92) on the Apple 8

I have the Fitbit Blaze and it is not compatible with my S9 and this is extremely frustrating, as I use my fitbit religiously and now I can't.   I have checked for updates and done everything.  I can get a partial syncing, but cannot use the device any longer to it's full potential.   Very disappointing!

I got my Fitbit versa two weeks ago but haven't been able to received calls or text notifications on it. I have tried a few things with no solutions to the issue. I can receive facebook notifications though. I am using a Samsung 9 plus.

I am having the same problem. This has gone on for 6 months. Fitbit support has given me the same proposed solutions over and over again and nothing works. Bottom line us that the Fitbits are not syncing and or not compatible. Extremely frustrating. I am looking into other fitness bands.

Sad to hear that. I will be doing the same so tired of trying. It would be great if I can get a full refund.

Was having the same problems for most of last year. What finally worked for me was turning off bluetooth on all my other devices. I have the app on my iPad also. Noticed that if i turn on bluetooth on iPad the Ionic will stop syncing on the S9 and would have to turn off bluetooth on the ipad and resync the Ionic. Now works great. This might help some people

Finally worked! Chat with fitbit customer service and follow all the options and finally after a while it worked. It works great now definitely compatible with S9 Plus.
