Samsung Note 8 Blaze notification issue

I can not view texts on my Blaze from Samsung note 8. I've enabled notifications on the Blaze as well as in the app. The text message indicator pops up, but doesnt allow me to view the message. My incoming call notification just started working today. I upgraded to a note 8 recently & it's never worked. Does anyone else have this issue? It says it's compatible on the Fitbit website, but it's not working.

I didn't mean to accept this solution because it didn't work. I can't read any text messages on my Blaze. I've tried to troubleshoot everything suggested.

Didn't work for me either.  The only I get are phone calls.  No text or emails and I have it set to receive notifications on the fit bit app

Go to notifications, then go to apps, select messages then make sure you have "show message on lock screen show content" clicked.  After that your messages should show up.
