I suppose there was an update. The app presents sleep data differently.  Have others noticed this?

I miss seeing how long episodes of awake, light, REM and deep sleep are

Moderator edit: Subject for clarity.

Exercise tile??  Can’t find one!  i have a Charge 5 - s/w version 4.19.1.  My stats display was fine yesterday (I still dislike the April changes to the sleep stats) but today’s display is now totally useless!  After 10 years it is time to toss Fitbit!

Yeah, and when I woke up yesterday, the app told me that I had walked two
flights of stairs during the night.I don't sleep walk!

But at least I burned off those imagined calories!!

Does anyone from the company monitor this forum? Any idea?

The answer is most likely no, seeing the state of things these past few months.

There are moderators here, but they likely hold accounts from before Google's acquisition

Yeah.

I went to sleep and dreamed my Fitbit got fried with the new update
download.

Oow wait. That really happened! At least they covered that one.

Addendum: Yesterday I walked up 16 steps (1 floor) multiple times and only a few were recorded. So, one day I woke up with a recorded floor during the night when I did not do so, and the next day I walked up the floors several time and they weren't accurately recorded. This since our famous update. So, not only can I not read the sleep module, but other areas are becoming less accurate. Please report. Thanks.

I've stopped wearing my FitBit except at night and only for comparison to my Apple Watch app, Pillow. FitBit app says I slept 7 hrs 33 min last night with 1 hr awake, 1 hr 52 min REM, 5 hr 21 min light, 19 min deep. Pillow says I slept 7 hr 59 min with 34 awake, 3 hr 1 min REM, 2 hr 58 min light, 2 hr deep. Major differences in amount of time in different levels. I tend to think Pillow is more accurate since I felt like I was awake most of the night between awake, REM, and light. Will continue to monitor but will probably stop using FitBit at all in the near future.

to keep us updated. I have seen a big difference between Fitbit and Apple Watch as well. I’ve always thought the Fitbit was more accurate when it comes to sleep, but it will be nice to see what your thoughts are.    I just don’t like the fact that Fitbit doesn’t even respond to any of users issues regarding the sleep screen change

This morning my Fitbit with this new app told me I got almost 8 hours of sleep. The times that I went to sleep and woke up were completely wrong. I had a difficult night and I know I only slept about 4 hours maximum. I had my alarm set to get up at a a certain time and as soon as the alarm went I got up immediately and started my day. However my Fitbit says I didn't wake up until 11:13 am. Completely wrong. My time zone is set correctly. Not only is the new app soulless and ugly to look at, but it does not work properly. I cannot trust it to get my sleep times correct. The old app was always spot on.

And the beat goes on... unfortunately the app has been rendered useless by their developers.

The sleep report changes are terrible. One can only hope they will realize what an unpopular, unhelpful disaster this “update” has been & bring back what wasn’t broken & didn’t need “fixing”. So frustrating & annoying. Thank so for your post. I agree with you, missing getting to see those details too.

In  the past, I thought Apple was way off because most of the time the numbers don’t match specially the difference between the RAM and deep sleep with the last couple updates on Apple. I think the difference is not much at all.
It will be nice to see what your conclusion is!
please keep us updated

I did not notice any change to the way it was yet

it’s amazing with so many posts they will not even reply.

I hate my watch now. I loved the old sleep app, because it kept everything in one place and whether you fell asleep at 11:59pm and woke up at 4am and fell back to sleep 😴 till 9am it was all in one place. The new chart is horrific. Now you have to go to a different spot to read all the time you slept. I hate it! I used my watch to mainly track my sleep and heart rate, now it's worthless. I cannot believe they did this. 😢 😢 😭 😭. What do we have to do to get the old one back? Otherwise me wearing this watch is useless.

Still absolute trash… it would be one thing if we just had to navigate the horrible new graph but since the visual change the accuracy has also become pure trash… I no longer bother to check my sleep because it tells me I was in REM sleep when I am standing up brushing my teeth.
The product has been ruined. Bravo.

Couldn’t agree more (sadly). So very disappointing.

I’m going to begin looking for a Fitbit alternative. I’ve been a loyal Fitbit fan for years, but this change has really deflated my enthusiasm. When Google bought Fitbit, the initial changes were annoying & I suppose were my first indication things weren’t looking so good for Fitbit’s future. And now this. Google is certainly making a hot mess of Fitbit.

Am beginning to talk w/ friends who use alternatives that also track & report on sleep. Will give Fitbit a little more time to see if there’s indication Google’s Fitbit peeps are listening to customer feedback & are willing to do something good about it, but I won’t hold my breath.

Same here. Seriously considering an Apple watch. The sleep data and the heart function checks are the most important to me. I have chronic insomnia and a mechanical heart valve. The Apple watch is a lot more expensive, but unless the Fitbit app is fixed I may have no choice.

I haven’t used the pillow but I did notice the last few days that Fitbit showed a much longer REM and deep than apple ?

I sadly did, the Fitbit was 2 hours of REM and apple was 39 minutes 🤷🏼‍:male_sign:

I had a similar thing happen as another commenter here. The Fitbit said I was in REM sleep when I know I was awake.

Well, since Fitbit changed the sleep tracking to exclude naps, and made it harder to understand my sleep patterns, why should I continue to pay $10 for a membership?  The answer is, I'm not, and once this expires.  And I'm going to save up for an Apple Watch.

"I miss seeing how long episodes of awake, light, REM and deep sleep are." I miss this feature as well. I could hover over an event and it would show me the beginning and ending times as well as the duration. It was helpful to know what time I woke up in the middle of the night, for example. The phone app is inferior to the browser web dashboard in this matter.
