I suppose there was an update. The app presents sleep data differently.  Have others noticed this?

I miss seeing how long episodes of awake, light, REM and deep sleep are

Moderator edit: Subject for clarity.

Totally agree!

The changed sleep details graphic is entirely illegible and therefore useless.

I hate the updated sleep on the app. It was so much easier to read & understand on the old version. Plus you didn’t have to go to different screens to see the information. Is there any way to get the old version back?

Best Answer
Yes, call customer support and complain, they will eventually change it back.

I felt the same and got a watch 6 classic... wear both at night now to compare results.

Lately, both have been very close to each other in sleep tracking with watch 6 subjectively being more "correct" i.e. time falling asleep, wakeup time, snoring, etc. One thing I miss on watch 6 is no HRV value in milliseconds.

Robracer, calling customer support will yield nothing but lost time on your part.  You should note that through what still amounts to 67 never-to-increment pas  67 pages of negative feedback for the earlier "upgrade" disaster where the moderators frantically deleted comments day by day there was only one element reverted to prior status - the charge level in percent at the upper left of the first screen.  The moderators only delete posts and Google has stopped all Fitbit sales offshore and fired the majority of the Fitbit staff including the gentleman who created the product.  So it's seems clear that the intent is to kill Fitbit having purchased the technology and push emphasis to their Pixel products which based on the arrogance of the software developers demonstrated by these "updates" would be an equally worthless investment.  One moderator honestly allowed that there is no "going back" from a development standpoint (presuming you can find someone willing to call what they have done "development").  The attitude, as put forward by the moderator, is that "we'll all get used to it."  The inaccuracy of that pronouncement is exceeded only by the arrogance of the software kiddies presuming that to be the case.  What had been independently reviewed as a best of breed product has functionally been decimated by the last two major "upgrades" to the point that it's a subpar item in what has become an increasingly competitive market segment.  A great product now gone to the detriment of so many.

Yes, GoSo, the lost of daily history detail is maddening.  For working on sleep issues access to that information was gold but the script kiddies working on this software somehow fail to understand that taking away information isn't particularly helpful or at all appreciated.  Of all the ridiculous things they did to the sleep portion of the app, removing history is the most thoughtlessly stupid.  But clearly the recent updates demonstrate that the so-called development team is not user focused.  I wonder if any of them have actually used the product as part of their health/fitness monitoring.

I disagree, if enough people complain and threaten to buy a new, non fitbit watch then it should work....And if it doesn't, then at least people got do what they do best.... Complain on a forum and not achieve any results.

Think what you will, Robracer, but I and many others called customer support to forcefully state our displeasure in connection with the first disaster "upgrade" as well as posting issues on the community forum and look what that has yielded.  Calling customer support presupposes that the folks on the other end are really interested in what the users community needs, feels, or desires.  That is a dramatically misplaced presumption regarding Google's software downgrade initiative.

When are they going to change the sleep data display back to the old display or something similar? There's not near as much info in the new display

Fitbit never backed out of any design decisions so I'd say the answer is never 🤷

Yes, I hate it & don't understand it at all!

They can screw other tabs and make it unreadable too so we need to be happy that they ruin "only" sleep stats. Google (Fitbit) will not see my money never again. After Charge 2, Ionic, Versa 3, Sense, Charge 5 and some time premium account after terrible updates and "upgrades" it's time to say goodbye. Maybe I'll try Garmin Venu 3.

I hate the way the new sleep app works, it was so much better before who decided to change it?

Go back to what the sleep app was! It was so much more ridley readable and the information was so much clearer. I have no idea why they changed it so Much less effective. Go back to the last one please please please please!

Agreed - totally ruined.  I am quite devastated, as i used these stats with all of my doctors.  I have an auto-immmune disease and this data was extrememly helpful.  I can't understand why they would take away the data that show the "Typical Range" WITH PERCENTAGES for us users.  I used this every day.  Just having a grey blob to guage against means NOTHING.  Useless crap.  Daily stats are totally unreadable.  Sleep History is gone.  My partner of 8 years worked at Fitbit.  He was laid off with everyone else so i had an inside view of the transition.  They replaced everyone with overseas "talent".  I don't think they will ever go back to being as scientific as they were.  They are just appealing to the masses now and will likely not take a bit of this feedback to heart.  For us users that relied on this data for health reasons, i think we are going to have to move to another device.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  I have been with Fitbit so long, i dont even know what is out there.  But, these last two updates have RUINED a great product.  I am sure the founders are shocked, even though they might have known some of this was coming. They had their hearts in the right place and shockingly Google a company I respected, has blown this acquisition completely.  And in turn started to mare their reputation to boot. Shame on them.

Hate the new sleep graph. Unable to interpret as a continuous timeline over the night. Just looks like a graph about 3 different things happening at 3 different times overlayed to save space.

Shame, I’ve had a Fitbit for years but the sleep data is the primary reason I got one so now useless to me if it doesn’t get rolled back.

Their has been 5 major updates, with many addressing what users did not like about the previous version. Yet with every update we get 6+ months of complaints, and std to move on.

Well, count Rich_Laue as the apparent founder of the "I like these numbskull downgrades to what had previously been a useful and well-liked application" society.  Don't look for a lot of followers, Rich.

Well, this update is not user friendly at all.

Please explain how the Benchmark works? It is showing MY stats for the night, NOT a comparison to others my age. Same with the 30 day trend.

I know that in its present form, it is useless to me and will have to look at Apple Watch.
