Sleep tracker update is terrible

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The latest update to the sleep tracker is terrible. I used to be able to really look at my different levels of sleep and gain useful information.  This new graph is cluttered and confusing and practically useless to me. The sleep tracker was my favorite feature before. Please bring it back the way it was.

I was just looking into just that today...I think I may be able to adjust to lesser charge time better than these progressive changes from Google

@sanbro26  I agree 100%. Yesterday though, I opened up the app and the old version was back (I didn't do anything with my settings). I scrolled through through weeks of data, just like we were able to do before the downgrade. I actually took a screenshot. This PROVES that they CAN put it back to what it was. Today when I woke up, it was back to the downgrade. Below is what I had on my phone yesterday morning.

@Pkeck They see our complaints, but don't care what we want. We've been told to "deal with it" that it's not coming back to the way it was.

On what platform? I'm on Android - no change.

I agree. My fitbit hasn't recorded any information in days.
I wish I had never bought it.

you can revert back to the old graphs by going into settings, apps, Fitbit,
storage, clear data. I have to do this every 3 or so days to keep the old
graphs.

I’m not on premium and my sleep tracker is garbage since the update. Before the update, it wouldn’t sync.

Somebody commented there was a way you could roll back the update and go back to the old sleep tracker, I’d like to know how to do that

for me, yes. I found a link on Facebook Fitbit groups that allows me to
revert the app. But I also found that if I go to Settings, Apps, Fitbit,
Storage .. clear data .. then setup my app and Fitbit Sense 2 again, I get
the great graphs back

Don't forget the discount on only the newest models if we experience any functional issues.

I have a very specific gripe with the new sleep tracker -- the sleep schedule view no longer shows 'cat naps' during the day. These used to show as a small bar, separate from the main bar on the graph. The loss of this information greatly reduces the value of the FitBit system for me, since our main use of these devices is for sleep monitoring and these 'cat naps' are one of the most clear warnings of not getting enough restorative sleep during the night.

I bought my first one for the steps initially but then once I really dug into the features, I used it to track my sleep more than my steps. I have autoimmune diseases that make restorative sleep nearly impossible. So having that feature was nice because I could then share it with my doctors so they could see my sleep better. So when fitbit bricked it I was lost and got another one for that very reason. It diagnosed to sleep apnea before any doctor did, which when I showed my PCP she sent me for a sleep study. Don't get me wrong, I still watch my steps because it's a motivation to move more. I honestly do not think another fitbit will be in my future.

after evaluating the new Sleep portion of the Fitbit app, the Sleep portion
was the only aspect of the app keeping me with Fitbit. NOW I own an Oura
(MUCH better for health tracking, just ok for fitness and workouts)

Thank you, this was super helpful! I was tapping on each stage with nothing happening. But by tapping and holding I can see the time for each stage. It's still not as convenient as before and not super easy to read, but at least now I can see the specifics of each stage. I hope more people see this comment, it will at least give some relief,  it did for me after months of being frustrated. 🙂 p.s. may will revert back to the old graph, fingers crossed that it will work 🤞🏼

Okay, I was wrong about touching the sleep graph, you are able to touch it to get more detailed info. I still don't like the graph.
